President’s Choice Gluten-Free Mini Brownies & Chocolate Chip Cookies

It appears that President’s Choice has completely jumped on the gluten-free bandwagon. Considering how much I loved their cake mix (which I have yet to find at my store), I had to jump on and join them on their gluten-free foodie journey.

Gluten-Free Mini Brownies

A bag of their gluten-free mini brownies is regularly priced $4.99. I must admit, they looked quite tempting. I would share the links to these products but the PC web site is acting wonky.

They looked great, although many in my bag were smooshed but that could have happened on the way home.

I made tea and started to indulge. I knew immediately they were made with rice flour, damn it. I could feel the slight crunchy texture in my mouth. That said, these were pretty darn impressive. I just wish they had that perfectly creamy fudgy texture that makes mini brownies so wonderful.

Close but not perfect, especially for the price. Personally, I give these three and a half out of five wooden spoons. If you are on a special diet though, these are definitely a four out of five. I say, go for it.

Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

The same day I also picked up a package of 10 gluten-free chocolate chips cookies that are regularly $4.99.

You know I am not a big fan of store-bought cookies to begin with but I am not a fan of cake mixes either.

I opened up the package and thought to myself, wow, typical dry crumbly cookies. I am probably not going to like these.

I was so right! In fact I spat it out. Now these you can totally tell are made with rice flour. Not only are they dry and gross they have the most unpleasant texture. Not quite rant-worthy but very, very close. I don’t know how Reg ate them. I just threw the rest in the compost. They were so bad, they made me mad. I give these zero out of five wooden spoons. People who need gluten-free products deserve better!
