The Empty Bowl… Feel free to fill…

May 13, 2011 by Suzie the Foodie 13 Comments

The Empty Bowl

After over a month of giving stuff away to celebrate my blog’s birthday and recipe testing from cookbooks… I find that my bowl is now empty. I am going through a rough time right now and have been living off sunflower seeds and spicy noodles. I hope that things turn around for the better soon but until then, feel free to leave a comment and send some positive foodie energy my way if you’d like.

I am trying to come up with ideas on how to be lucrative with my blog without sacrificing my integrity so if you have ideas, I would love to hear them. I came close but in the end, could not put ads on my site that were not food-related. That just isn’t me. I need to stay true to myself and to you, my readers, to stay healthy and happy. That said, it was great to hear that many of you are OK with advertising. If I go that direction it will only be with food companies I really trust and believe in.

Feel free to give feedback on my blog, what you would like to see more of, if I have helped you in any way, have any genius ideas on how I can sustain my foodie passion…

Thank you all so much. I will be back when my bowl is full once again. And isn’t it a pretty one?

Have a yummy weekend.

I’m into taking flavors and putting a twist on them Tomorrow a Taco Burger from the Poleski’s Taco Salad. Still mulling over a side and the Bun treatment but it should be fun !!!

Suzie, your passion for food and blogging are contagious. You’ve inspired me in so many ways and you’ve become a household name around here. Take some time to refresh, heal and take care of yourself. The creativity will flow and ideas and opportunities always come when we least expect them and from the oddest sources sometimes.

Good to see that Google Blogger is up and running again, that must have given everyone a bit of a scare.

Thanks everyone! Yes, a break is in order, that is for sure. Ava, I am so glad that I have been able to inspire you, that helps a lot. Having Blogger crap out this morning was terrifying! What a Friday the 13th I have had! Thankfully it looks like we are back to normal again.

Blogging should be relaxing. When you need a break, take one. We all do it. I have been blogging for five years and did take breaks when I needed them. We will not stop following you. You are doing so many great things.

When I need some inspiration on what to do next, besides cloud gazing which relaxes me tremendously. I think about some of my favorites people who are gone, I imagine what advice they would tell me. It really works and get ideas that I could have never come up on my own.

What does it mean to work for oneself, yet inspire others? Blogging is a funny thing Suzie. Your inspiration, curiousity and creativiy is a wonder. Staying true to yourself, reveals something special to those of us who follow. I don’t know what kind of living can be made of this, but your voice is heard and appreciated. What is better than that?

Susie, I think this rough patch is just part of the creative process, but so difficult to live through. Taking a break to allow the juices to flow would be such a good idea. Susie you are constantly giving of yourself through your work; you deserve to rest and nourish your spirit. Take good care of yourself dear friend, and come back to us full of energy.
