Happy Holidays Foodies!

December 24, 2018 by Suzie the Foodie 6 Comments

Happy Holidays Foodies!

Happy Holidays Foodies! What a year, right? I know it is not just me who had their lives completely turned upside down but we made it. We got through it. For me 2018 ended up being quite a powerful and completely heartbreaking year but it is almost over.

Happy Holidays Foodies!

People have shown unbelievable kindness and generosity towards me. Like my friend Cordelia who was the Christmas Donut Fairy this year!

Happy Holidays Foodies!

Believe it or not I have never had Krispy Kreme donuts before and look what showed up on my doorstep!

Happy Holidays Foodies!

I now absolutely understand why people get weak in the knees for them. So soft, so pillowy, light as air and OMG the lemon curd filling? Unbelievable!

Happy Holidays Foodies!

This is the first year for many, many years that I did not have to make the Ridler Christmas Cookies to enjoy them! My sister Shannon made them and they were so wonderful! Exactly like when we used to bake them as kids together.

Happy Holidays Foodies!

With everyone being so generous I decided to gift the family with our Mom’s Pīrāgi (Latvian Bacon Buns). I no longer have a bread maker so I used a mixer and thank god I did! Wait until you see how much dough this beast of a recipe makes. I will be sharing that recipe and tutorial soon!

Also, I have officially started delving into the world of candy making and have discovered that it is perhaps the most challenging of all the foodie genres I have attempted so far. I can not wait to share my successes and disasters with you!

Happy Holidays Foodies!

As I mentioned in my Magical Butter Unboxing Video I have decided to also learn about herbalism! I am so excited about choosing this as part of my foodie path. I will be sharing an economical way to make cuticle oil amongst many other projects I can not wait to get started on.

Brightest Blessings!

Happy Holidays Foodies!

I hope that wherever you and whoever you are with that you are safe, healthy and happy. If there is one thing I have learned over the last year it is not to take the gifts of life for granted. I am so very lucky to have a roof over my head and food on my table. Thank you to all the heroes out there who helped bring me home. Brightest Blessings to you all.

I agree with Debra, 2019 is going to be a wonderful year for you. I love Krispy Kreme! Unfortunately, we only have Dunkin Donuts where I live. So when I get to eat a Krispy Kreme donut it is a real treat.
