It was my sister Shannon‘s birthday and Shannnn, Jamie and I went down to the beaches for brunch. We wanted to walk along the boardwalk with a cold drink. They opted for “Teapop” at David’s Tea (combination of Perrier and peach tea if I remember correctly) which is the very healthy and surprisingly refreshing choice. I had gone off on my own to Starbucks to try to get a cold decaf coffee drink.
As you know I have been investigating the large coffee shops to see if they have cold coffee drinks that do not contain caffeine. I have gotten frappés there before but could not be 100% sure I always asked for decaf so this time I did. On record.
Was Starbucks my foodie hero or a total zero? Hero. A total hero. Not only did they say I could get their latest crazy mocha frappé in decaf they said they could basically make me anything I wanted and even join my sisters in decaf tea if I get sick of coffee. Which probably will never happen. I ended up with a decaf iced latte. Healthier than a frappé but not as healthy as a teapop, LOL.
I am not always a huge fan of Starbucks. I often do not like their popular limited time frappuccinos (although I always credit their imagination) and I am not always 100% about their products in general but when it comes to giving me freedom of choice, they get five out of five wooden spoons.
Bravo!
You give credit where credit is due, Suzie!
Thanks Debra! That is my intention. 🙂 And they totally deserve it.
It been a while since I been to starbuck.
Coffee is on
It’s always a treat! I usually make my own iced coffees, nice to get out and have someone make it for me for a change.
Happy Birthday to your sister! Glad your drink worked out and also, I LOVE PEACH in my tea. I make it at home, so good!
It’s true, peach and tea go so great together!
