Last summer Reg and I had a long conversation about the idea of boxed water as we were walking along English Bay in Vancouver. With the worries of plastic bottles being used for water polluting so much of our land and ocean, I wondered, why would boxed water be better?
I recently found out that Boxed Water is now available in Canada and just had to know more.
I am a religious recycler. It does not make sense to me that according to the press release, “80% of those plastic bottles end up in a landfill wherein the plastic breaks down into smaller fragments that absorb toxins and corrupt waterways, pollute soil and poison animals.” That said, I guess most people are boneheads and just throw the bottles away.
So why would Boxed Water be better? It is sold in a biodegradable box that is also BPA/BPS free. Also, 76% of the Boxed Water packing is made of trees that come from a well-managed forests.
Boxed Water donates at least 1 % of revenue annually to restoration and world water relief through partnerships with The National Forest Foundation and Water.org.
When it comes to recycling, my recycling service picked our boxes up and apparently most will.
When it comes to the environment, OK, they sold me. So far so good, Boxed Water is better. But how does it taste?
“Boxed Waters 5 step filtration system process delivers pure hydration to help get the most out of life. Boxed Water is purified with UV, Carbon and reverse osmosis filtration. It is also free from chromium, arsenic, MBTE, chlorine, fluoride and trace pharmaceuticals.”
Boxed Water is excellent. There is no smell or aftertaste. The water tastes incredibly clean and we have been drinking it constantly. It will be gone in no time in our house.
You can find it at Sobey’s, Whole Foods, Longos, Metro, Foodland, Pusatari’s and many smaller retail chains and independents. Amazingly you can buy a box of 24 for just $39 online which includes shipping. That is just under $2 per box.
I love this idea for a product. It helps the environment, is not crazy-expensive and is high in quality. I give this product five out of five wooden spoons.
Boxed Water is distributed in Canada through RM Fresh Brands, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Legacy Ventures International Inc.(OTCQB:LGYV) a Nevada based multinational conglomerate focused on acquisitions of proven and high-potential businesses across a variety of business sectors
