For a couple of weeks now I kept seeing these mysterious posters for La Boulange’s pastries to come to Starbucks. Warmly served? I like that!
Reg and I were out getting errands done when I saw that the day had come! La Boulange‘s treats were officially being served so of course I ran in.
There were baked good there but all the croissants were gone!!!
So I went back after the croissant-craziness had ebbed and flowed a bit.
This time they were fully stocked but I saw some products that did not look so La Boulange-y. The same cake pops were there as before and were those bagels from La Boulange?
As much as I love a good butter croissant, I treated myself to a “single-origin” chocolate croissant. Apparently that means chocolate “… made from one variety of cacao harvested in one region.”
The most challenging part for me when going to Starbucks is to find a beverage that I enjoy. I have discovered their decaf vanilla latte is creamy enough not to give me a headache and sweet enough that I do not need to add sugar. Finally!
I sat down and thoroughly enjoyed this warm, crispy, flaky and dreamy chocolate croissant with my latte. It was a sunny day. I found the last empty chair in the place and devoured it all by myself, licking the not-too-bitter-or-sweet chocolate off my fingers. It was nice and gooey because it had in fact been perfectly heated to just be a tad melt-y without being too hot.
Damn!!!
I rarely buy pastries when I go out to cafes because it is so rare to find one deserving of all the fat and calories. Hence why I bake so much at home. I want my treats to count.
This counted. This was… fantastic. This was worth every single bite and penny.
I now look forward to exploring more pastries that are available. I am wary that any will come close to this one but now I am willing to spend the extra money for a treat to go with my latte. How exciting!
Welcome to Starbucks La Boulange! I have been waiting for you to come along.
I don’t think even those pastries could tempt me to go into a Starbucks.
Not a fan Debra?!
Sounds delish! If I get a chance, I’ll give one a try. Your pictures truly take us on that divine journey – thank you!
They reminded me of the chocolate croissants we used to get on Young Street Jamie, I loved those. I am so glad you enjoyed the foodie journey Jamie!
It’s wonderful that you have something you enjoy like this. Very cool.
Hey, speaking of coffee. I saw that Wally World sells McCafe Decaf. There were also coupons online for them at one point. They might still be there. Coupons dot com.
Yes! My Superstore had decaf McD’s coffee too so I picked some up. Going to do a taste test soon. Super exciting about the coupons. I’ll go check it out. Thanks!
Cool beans, Suzie.
