McDonald’s has a few new holiday-inspired beverages out for us to try.
The Inspiration
They had a vote and last I checked the Crème Brûlée Latte was in the lead with 32% of the vote.
Venturing Out
I put on my rain pants (yes, those are a real thing) which is kind of necessary here in Vancouver during the torrential rain season. I got my small McDonald’s Crème Brûlée Latte which cost me more than $3.
FYI, it does NOT come in decaf which is a bummer for my sensitive brain. Also, McDonald’s decaf is excellent.
The Taste Test
I sipped the latte all the way home and to be honest, all I tasted was warm milk. Not even hot milk. It was not until I got home that I opened it up and stirred it to finally get to some flavour and sweetener.
The Review
I actually could barely taste the coffee. It just tasted like sweetened warm milk to me. I like milky coffee but this was REALLY milky. When something is called “Crème Brûlée” it conjures up notes of vanilla and caramel. Sadly, I did not get that from my cup of McDonald’s Crème Brûlée Latte.
The only good thing I can say is that I may not get to much of a caffeinated kick in the head when I go through withdrawal probably tomorrow. What a shame. I had high hopes for this one.
This product gets two out of five wooden spoons and a tsk tsk for not even being hot or stirred.
Sounds like you got “brulee’d” on the “creme.”
LOL, yup, that sounds about right Debra!
