It isn’t that I haven’t had a lot of foodie experience during this visit to Toronto. The truth is I have and it has all been so epic! But I just have to share with my foodie friends the coolest experience I had tonight with my sister Jamie.
Tonight I got to sing Michael Jackson’s The Way You Make Me Feel at Choir! Choir! Choir! It was tough to stand for all that time and sing but I did it!
We even sang outside the pub which was so much fun.
Daveed Goldman was our teacher tonight and wow, he blew me away. I have very little musical talent and I just loved listening to him sing and play the guitar, I almost forgot to join in at points.
It was an oddly foodie night too. He talked about eating pork, we sang the song for the commercial for Big Red Gum (I knew all the lyrics!) and he sang Beat It/Eat It (Michael/Weird Al). It was awesome.
Ah yes, life in Toronto. I do miss it sometimes. Fast-paced, fun, crazy and OMG, I want that lamp! Of course I have only been here a few days and have lived a lifetime. Recovery back in Vancouver is going to take quite a while but for now I am just jumping in and singing and loving every second before I face-plant when I get home.
Sounds great! And gosh, I haven’t thought of Big Red gum in EONS!
Isn’t that funny?! I hadn’t either but I knew the song immediately. One woman was mortified when we all chimed in, LOL. Oh Toronto…
Yay!! What a wonderful time we had together, Suzie. I’m so glad you could come. And wow, I still can’t quite believe that there were so many food references! It was the Suzie the Foodie mojo!! 🙂
I am so glad I could go too Jamie! And it’s true, what was up with all the foodie comments?! My magical foodie influence was going strong that night. 🙂
