Yesterday was World Nutella Day and I struggled a little while to figure out what new Nutella recipe to try because you know, I love Nutella and have made numerous recipes with it.
I turned to my Facebook page for help. My friends Michelle and Lisa have been encouraging me to try making my first mug cake so I decided to make Table for Two’s recipe for Moistest Chocolate Mug Cake which has Nutella in it! Thanks Michelle for that recipe suggestion! It is foodie gold.
The Video
I put on my Nutella pants and got microwave baking! Oh that still seems too weird. See my real time experience here.
Do You Have What It Takes?
You will need: 1/4 cup flour, 2 tbsp cocoa, 1/4 tsp baking powder, 2 tbsp sugar, 1/8 tsp salt, 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp milk, 2 tbsp vegetable oil and 1 tbsp of Nutella.
You will also need a large mug because the batter will expand. I used my Random House Canada mug which is very large.
I thought you would need two whisks but you can use just one.
How To Make The Cake
Whisk together dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Add oil and milk. Whisk until clump-free.
Pour batter into a large microwave-safe mug. Add Nutella in the centre.
Place mug on a paper towel in the microwave. Microwave mug cake for 70-80 seconds on high.
Foodie Results
Table for Two’s recipe for Moistest Chocolate Mug Cake is absolutely delicious! Super moist and tasty. Just make sure to keep digging to find that Nutella, it ends up on the bottom. I was shocked at how good the cake ended up. Watch my short video to see just how much I ended up enjoying this cake.
Mug Cakes
It still feels weird to “bake” in the microwave but I must admit, the results were shockingly delicious. I often do not bake cakes because it is just the two of us and one cake will last days and days in our household. The idea of just making a single serving (which actually could have fed both of us) is very appealing. That said, being able to make cake this easily and fast is downright dangerous!
I usually stay away from my microwave because it can kill the nutrients in the food but when it is dessert, there are not a lot of nutrients to be destroyed. This was so much fun to make, I am definitely going to continue on this mug cake journey to see what other treats work well in… the microwave… OMG, so weird.
Continuing on with expressing myself about the contemporary world situation… This is how THIS woman dresses! “Go blog yourself” shirt with Nutella pants. If you have a problem with that, bite me. #dresslikeawoman

Fun video, Suzie! And I loooooove your outfit!
And as for #dresslikeawoman, good to know why there’s yet another reason I could never work for Donald Trump, LOL! I haven’t worn a dress or skirt since 1986.
Yay!! Thanks for watching and the compliments on my outfit, hehehehe… And that is an awesome Debra fact. Nice!
I don’t get it. It’s not the 1960s anymore. Madmen era be damned!!!
