A while ago I picked up this Parmesan cheese grater/mill that felt incredibly retro and cool and knew I just had to product test it live and on camera for Bargain or Bust?!
I bought this obscure and nowhere-to-be-found-online product at Value Village for just $2.99. It was one of those products I admired at Italian restaurants as servers grated fresh Parmesan onto my pasta. I had to know, did it work like I had seen in restaurants? Would it be too hard on my hands?
Who knows who Chef Bordeau is or was… I can’t find any intel on him anywhere online. This was a total $3 gamble.
I was up for the challenge! I had tried grating Parmesan in my food processor and it was a total disaster. Using a tall grater was threatening to my knuckles and using a fine grater for such a hard piece of cheese was annoying.
With such tiny and delicate hands at risk… was this product a Bargain Or Bust?!
“Bargain or Bust” is such a great idea for a video series, Suzie! And I’m surprised to hear that this grater is dishwasher friendly too — I though that might be its Achilles Heel and that it would require hand washing. I once spent CONSIDERABLY more than $3 on a cheese grater and it warped the first time I put it in the dishwasher. Completely useless after that, of course.
Thank you Debra! I’m so glad you like the Bargain or Bust idea. 🙂 You totally made my day. Well I put mine through the dishwasher because it was such a pain to clean by hand. I put it on the top and so far so good. On man, getting warped? That sucks! Will try to avoid at all cost. A friend via FB said I could also use it for chocolate so I want to test that too.
This is great. Way better than the coffee machine.
You’re the best at these videos. Super inspiring. Thank you.
LOL, yes, the coffee machine, OMG, what a disaster! My first true BUST.
Thank you, your words inspire me so much. Can’t wait to film another Bargain or Bust and see what happens!
Thank YOU for inspiring me.
🙂
