A lot of people have been asking me which breadmaker I recommend and the Black & Decker B2300 3lb White Breadmaker is the one I use week after week. I have had it two years now and use it on a regular basis and it always makes the perfect loaf of bread and is fantastic at making dough which is such a big help in the kitchen.
This recipe for Yummy Yogurt Dill Loaf is out of this world! It is low in fat and fills up your home with the scent of onions and dill. For me, that is true comfort!

* 3 tbsp sugar
* 1 tbsp vegetable oil

2. Select Basic Cycle, 2 lbs, light crust.
The key to making bread in a breadmaker is putting all the liquids, salt and sugar on the bottom. Then you add the flour, yeast and herbs. Once the dough gets moving, make sure to check that the dough is coming together and is not too dry. If it looks dry, add a little extra liquid. Once the dough stops moving though, leave the breadmaker alone!
You might think I am wussing out on the amount of cheese I put on my bread but I actually do not allow myself cheese very often so for me, this is a very generous serving!
When I lived in Vancouver, my first breadmaker was stolen out of our storage locker. I went years without one. Two years ago I bought this breadmaker with some birthday money I received and what a difference it has made to my life. Yes, I love to make food by hand when I can but there are days/weeks my fibromyalgia won’t let me. Now I can have freshly made bread with ingredients I can control that is preservative free on a weekly basis.
There is nothing like the scent of bread baking in the kitchen, filling the house with the scent of love.
You can always trust Black and Decker to make a good product.
Oh Yum! This sounds so good! With my success on the pizza dough, I’m really ready to try another bread now! 🙂 My bread machine is a “Breadman” – so far, so good! 🙂
I cant figure out when to take the kneading paddles out so they dont leave big holes in the bottom. Black and decker says to leave them in but the internet seems to agree they can be taken out. At what point can I take them out, when the dough finishes kneeding it is still sticky so removing it then is not easy…but the bread is still baking well….just with these dang things in them. Any idea how to know what point to take them out before baking? or how many minutes in the basic cycle the back cycle begins?
To be honest Katie, I always leave them in. If you’re worried about them getting stuck on the machine, I drizzle vegetable oil down the paddle and the paddle’s stand. Yes, once it is done kneading I suppose you can take the dough out and remove the paddle. Just make sure that it happens before the proofing/warming cycle. I hope that helps!
