Ripsters Halloween Shop has relocated to Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. I could not be happier about it! Over the last few weekends Reg and I have been going to many different stores looking for Halloween inspiration and Ripsters is definitely our favourite.
Although scary, it is not as disturbing as some other shops are. I like spooky and freaky stuff but some of the other places are out of Chainsaw Massacre territory. Reg said that Ripsters has the most Halloween charm and I totally agree with him.
You can find their store at 622 Sackville Drive, on the left of the library. This giant sign must be working because we have gone in there on the weekend and the place has been packed! Not only are they a Halloween store, I found out they will be open all year round as a costume supply shop. So cool!
I love this scarecrow that greeted me at the door. I would love to have him up in my crafts room!
OK yes, there is a definitely scary vibe here but you will notice that a ton of the store is dedicated to high quality costumes. There is a witch’s cloak I have been eyeing every time I am there and a very cool pirate hat that would look fabulous on Reg.
There are spooky foodie supplies you can pick up too! Remember I used this exact same mold to make my worm-infested-heart last year? LOL! They have lots of other molds too that you can use for making iced hands, panna cotta brains…
OK this freaks me out the most! One time I was in there, there was a robotic clown that roamed the store. Not funny!!! I HATE clowns!!!! Seriously, I do… Shudder….
Back to foodie supplies! You can get high quality Halloween napkins too and they did have an inflatable pumpkin snack dish which I was going to pick up but it was gone by the time I showed up!
Black plastic cutlery ware, spooky finger candelabra, lanterns, skull paper cups… To be honest, I would use these items all year if I could!
Now I am assuming this cut of meat is not actually edible but what a prop it would make! Oh man, so creepy!!!!
At the back of the store there are many animated robotic statues and we got such a kick out of them! Especially the wolf pelt on the floor whose eyes light up, too funny.
Halloween is creeping up on us so make sure you go to Ripsters for your spooky foodie supplies, props and costumes! The place is just hopping on the weekend with tons of customers and you absolutely have to see the staff dressed up. If you can not get there in person, check out this photo of Officer Rob Zombie and Tanya the Zombie Cop. So much fun!
Ripsters is a fun store that has absolutely embraced the Halloween spirit. You will not find cheap crap from China here. If you are looking for the best quality of contact lenses, wigs, costumes… get there soon because stuff is quickly disappearing! I bought my little crow Purdy there and some fun sunglasses! You will be seeing both of these props in my Halloween foodie posts very soon!
Happy Halloween Shopping!!!
Ripster’s looks absolutely AWESOME!! I’m glad they let you take photos, they have a lot of great stuff. I hear you on the clown thing, after seeing Stephen King’s “It” and Poltergeist I could never look at them the same again LOL…
Hey, I just saw a commercial for Paranormal Activity 3 to open in theatres soon. How perfect is that for a spooky Halloween thrill.
So fun! I love browsing in stores like this. I never buy anything though. The fun is just in looking!
Wow! Too scarey for me! My sister has a life size “Jason” in her house at the foot of the stairs with a big knive in his hand all bloody. I don’t think I’d be able to go down stairs at night alone and I’d be scaring myself all day as I came around the corner!
Are you in sackville
I was! Now I am on the west coast again in Vancouver.
