Let me make something very clear. Pizza sauce matters! A lot. At least to me. I am probably the only person that asks for extra pizza sauce on my pizza when I order it because I love sauce. But I am picky! And making a homemade pizza takes a lot of time so when I found this recipe I had to try it. Of course I also had to play around with it a bit.

The Recipe

Super Fast, Easy & Tasty Pizza Sauce Recipe

Put in a medium sauce pan:

14 oz can tomato sauce
2 teaspoons oregano
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 teaspoons sugar
¼ teaspoon Kosher salt
freshly ground pepper

Stir together and let bubble away for around 10 minutes.

The sauce will thicken and deepen in colour and flavour. Want heat? Add some red pepper flakes.

I tested it on homemade pizzas and it was delicious! Just like a real pizzeria pizza. I was absolutely impressed.

Foodie Conclusion

Super Fast, Easy & Tasty Pizza Sauce Recipe

I am loving quick, easy and tasty recipes right now! My life has been a tad insane and I would much rather spend a few bucks on spices, flour and tomato sauce for a delicious pizza than spend +$25 and not have it take all day.

This recipe made this way is perfection. I give it five out of five wooden spoons.

Love this and will be making it! Extra sauce was always asked for when we ordered pizza as well! Can’t order any more as we are too isolated so this will be great to make our own pizza!

So simple…but SO good!!! Made some Stromboli yesterday with this sauce and it was amazing! I’ve used different brands of jarred pizza sauce, and they were all pretty meh and pretty expensive. I’ll be using this recipe from now on 😀

Made this sauce for homemade tortilla pizzas! (Yes, I live in Texas, so we eat everything we can on fresh tortillas!). It was amazing! And no preservatives or bad things. Like some of the other ladies, I have bought every pizza sauce known to man and not a single one compares! Told my sister about it and we will be making and canning this for ourselves for easy nights!

Thought I’d give it a try since I have all the ingredients in the cupboard and wow! What a tasty sauce! I’ve been playing around with pizza dough lately and got that to come out great so I wanted a sauce to keep with that homemade theme and this one goes in the recipes file for sure. Thanks!

Hi Mo! You can try just 1 tsp of honey at first and see how it goes. Taste it and add more if you need to. Better to start with too little than too much!

Delish and super easy! I love that I could pick out any plain canned sauce and “Doctor it up” w the spices right in my pantry! Exactly what I needed to make quick pizzas w my kids tonight. My little twist: to minimize sugar/carbs I used coconut palm sugar and it was perfect👍😉
