yeh! Frozen Yogurt & Cafe has finally opened in Lower Sackville! Every time we have gone to Burrito Jax in the last few months we have seen construction going on in the corner lot of Downsview Mall. Then thanks to online media, I found out they were going to have their grand opening on Friday May 3, 2014!
We had had quite the brutal week and I knew that going out for frozen yogurt is just what we needed.
We of course had lunch at Burrito Jax first (I am so addicted to that place) and then headed over to the new local hangout.
Can I tell you how excited I am that we can go out to a place on the weekend that is open after 6 pm?! OMG!
But back to the frozen yogurt. First you have to decide what eating vessel you wanted. As amazing as the waffle cones smelled (divine) Reg and I got a small little tub each. Then you self serve the yogurt. We both choose strawberry which was pretty conservative considering you could get white cake mix (they used Betty Crocker’s cake mix) and a ton more wild choices.
Next you choose your toppings and wow, are there a lot to choose from!
From fresh fruit to all sorts of candy toppings.
These are Popping Boba Lychee pearls and I know how wonderful lychee fruit is with strawberry so we got adventurous and added some to our yogurt.
I drizzled mine with honey, added some pineapple and chocolate chips. I really wanted to taste the quality of the yogurt without it getting lost in some weird flavour with crazy toppings.
I have to say, this was stunning frozen yogurt. All the yogurt is fat free and the flavour of the strawberry was amazing.
Reg got similar toppings but also added kiwi fruit. They weighed our little buckets and the total was just over $10.
The problem? Trying to find a place to sit. When we first got our frozen yogurt there was standing room only, the place was packed!
Thankfully a table with these funky chairs opened up and we could sit down.
Here is Reg enjoying his yogurt. You can also see the self-serve style of the restaurant.
I have no doubts that yeh! Frozen Yogurt & Cafe is going to do really well in their new location. A healthy choice when it comes to dessert is just what Lower Sackville needs. Plus a place at night to pick up a coffee and share a Nutella crepe? Oh yes please!
Free Wi-fi, hot sauces like chocolate, peanut butter… sprinkles, crepes and stays open until 9 pm? We are coming back big time! The perfect place for us to hang out during home showings and nights when we just need to take a break. My only criticism? I wish it had opened years ago!
Excellent business…great staff and very clean. Proud of you Robert and Chelsea!!!
Love Mum xo
