I love your new look blog Suzie – it’s so fresh and clean and inviting. I am not generally a fan of the light writing on black backgrounds but made an exception for you! This look reflects what I imagine you would be like in real life – bright and welcoming and fun!

Fun giveaway!
Besides all of your amazing recipes that I love to try, I really like product reviews and local restaurant reviews. It’s one of my favourites in my Google Reader 🙂
Aimée says
Great job on the blog! Of course I always love seeing seasonal fresh recipes–and the tutorials are awesome. =)
Noelle says
Nice look!! I just changed mine too. I would like to see product reviews and perhaps for restaurant reviews.
A note on your title. It looks a little too light. If it was a little darker it would give more contrast to the background photos. I like those photos!:)
Thanks for the giveaway!

I like the new look and have enjoyed your recent recipes – especially the red wine/strawberry mold!

I was trying to find a link to your strawberry rhubarb crisp but couldn’t!! Maybe, when you have some free minutes, you could send it to me?? If there is one of course!! 🙂
Suzie Ridler says
Amelia, you can find the recipe here. Happy baking! That recipe is real a winner. Enjoy!
amelia says
Thank you and by the way, I love the new look. Much brighter and cheerier that the old black background.

Suzie, I stumbled upon your blog when I visited DivineCaroline.com and saw you had an interview about your adventures as a foodie there which was divine as well 🙂 I was hooked on your blog then and go everyday! I want to mention as well…that I believe some Divine intervention brought me there to that site for a number of reasons. I love to write, and have never known where to focus that energy. I am also a private Chef in my hometown. I was inspired by your interview and to make a long story short, my first ever food article was published on guess what? DivineCaroline.com 🙂 As a direct result of reading your interview (because had it not been for the interview catching my eye..not sure I’d have stayed on the site long…I was just surfing) I was inspired to write a creative food article (If a Chicken Could Think) and it was published straight away and I have not stopped writing since. NOR STOPPED FOLLOWING YOUR BLOG! Thanks so much for the inspiration and I’ve been meaning to write you anyway to say so..so now seems as good a time, as any, to publicly give you the Kudos!

Thank you for this blog. You inspire me to want to cook, to enjoy cooking and to be a better cook. 🙂

Suzie – you know I’m a big fan! I love your new look too 🙂
My favorite posts are the ones where you post the recipe you’ve tried, with photos, and your review of the recipe. I have tried several – and one I keep coming back for is the pizza dough in the breadmaker! Just made it this weekend in fact 🙂

Great giveaway, Suzie!

I am a fairly new reader of your blog, but I LOVE it! I love it when you take recipes from the Food Network, make them and then tell us what you really think! As a foodie myself, it is really great to be able to read another foodie’s take on a particular recipe.
Thanks!

LOVE the new look! It’s so warm and bright and friendly. And the background of the butcher block is perfect!
How exciting that you’re reviewing chefs and products now! I may not post a lot but I love that I can follow my adventurous friend through her grand successes.
Lots of love to you Suzie! So proud of you!

I think your blog is great! I have a suggestion about your photos though – you may want to put some sort of watermark on them with your blog address and/or a copyright. Unfortunately there are a lot of unscrupulous people out there who like to steal photos for commercial use.

Suzie, it is so much fun and inspirational to watch you grow into your talents! I love your blog, your recipes, and you! Congratulations on all your successes and may I be as fortunate in managing to find my way into success! Cool Giveaway too! You know, I always read your blog in my RSS feed so I didn’t even know about the design changes. It looks great.
If I have to make a suggestion, I would say to add more categories to the buttons on the right (currently cooking and baking). More like in a cookbook. It will make it easier for new readers to browse for whatever interests them. Honestly though, it is great as-is.
Heather Acton says
I, too, read regularly via RSS. Your blog is visually lovely, too, though … now that I’m looking at it.
I particularly love when you test recipes and report. I love the way your post your experience with lots of photos and the failures as well as the successes.

Hey Suzie! I’m loving the new layout of the blog. I especially like that things are sorted. It looks very clean and tidy :3
My favorite part of the blog is the seasonal recipes. It gives me ideas to use up a lot of produce and the like that I tend to buy in bulk.
I’d like to see more product reviews, if that is an option. I’m always wanting to expand my kitchen goodies.
As a critique, I think your banner is currently a bit too light. Your name is lost against the background. If you darkened the title I think it would pop out a lot more.
Kenora says
Oo, fun! Contest entry for me here. 🙂 Thanks for such a fun opportunity, Suzie!
Kenora says
Argh, way to read the directions first, Kenora. 🙂
I love all of your photographs – you make food look luscious and fun, and your sense of humour is a necessary part of your blog, at least to me. I like your sense of adventure, tackling foods or styles you haven’t before tried, and your restaurant reviews are interesting as well.
I like it all, and keep doing more of it as long as you are enjoying doing so!

Just want to say how much I enjoy your blog and facebooking. Your food adventures are easy to relate to and so very often include things I’d like to use or do in my own kitchen. I’ve tried out several and will continue to do so.
After moving so far away from home your recipes and product reviews have been a wonderful help to me. They inspire my inner curious cook as I am sure you inspire so many others. Thank you for sharing your world with us.

Well, this probably isn’t the answer you’re looking for 🙂 but I wouldn’t change a thing about your blog! It’s great! Love the recipes but especially love the product reviews (and giveaways!) because I am one who always ALWAYS checks consumer reviews before deciding on a purchase. I respect the opinion of someone who has actually used a product (or even tested a recipe). Good job!

Love the blog Suzie – (and the fact that we mutually dislike crockpots!). I’d love to see the blog look a little more modern and hip. The current colors are a little blah and almost victorian looking. Keep up the cooking!
