When I heard of Earth’s Own’s Amoré Almonds + Dairy Beverage,I was curious. I had found almond milk really boring and the idea of mixing it somehow with real dairy sounded genius to me. Plus, I could get it vanilla-flavoured?!
Yet, other people seemed confused. When I wrote about it on Facebook, the reaction was why would you put the two together? Those who drink almond milk won’t drink it because of the dairy and those who can not have almond milk won’t drink it because of the almonds.
I think I was the only person who thought… Um, because maybe it is yummy???
The Product Hunt
With coupon in-hand, I went searching for this product. Then, I gave up for a while. It was not at Sobey’s or my Superstore.
A week or two later I saw this sign in my Superstore for the Amoré Almonds + Dairy but it was not there with all the other special milk-like beverages.
Oddly, the same day I found it but it was in the regular milk section! Yay! I found it and yes, I picked up the vanilla because there is no such thing as too much flavour in my world.
The Product
This photo is a little misleading because I never drink just plain milk. Not a fan but I wanted you to see it. The drink is thicker than skim milk which caused a problem for me when using it in my cereal. I am used to skim milk which is very thin so it was not a winner in that way.
However, in tea and coffee it was delicious! I had it with in a breakfast drink too and it was lovely. Now it does not taste like almond milk or regular dairy milk. It has its own unique flavour and I personally liked it, especially with that hint of vanilla.
Health Benefits
According to the company, this drink “is an excellent source of: calcium, protein, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12 and riboflavin. In fact there is 50 per cent more calcium per serving than milk” and is a “good source of: Vitamin E, biotin, phosphorus and zinc.”
I really like that there is very little saturated fat but in my skim milk there is no fat at all.
I was surprised that the dairy element is actually skim milk powder and it appears to be at the end of the list of ingredients suggesting there is more salt and cane sugar in there than actual dairy. As a result, I started to think of this as more as a dessert beverage.
Product Testing
I decided to try it in my iced coffee instead since it was so sweet and tasty.
It frothed up perfectly and wow, this was absolutely delicious! Instead of a guilt-ridden treat I now think of it as a “calcium, protein, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12 and riboflavin”-rich beverage. I can live with that.
I did go out and purchase another container of the vanilla-flavoured Earth’s Own’s Amoré Almonds + Dairy Beverage just so I could make my iced coffees. You can also use it in cooking but Reg has a sensitivity to nuts so that will not be happening in my kitchen but it could happen in yours.
This is a very flavourful product but I was hoping for something a little healthier I could use as a regular milk substitute. It is a little too decadent, even for me, on a daily basis. But for treats with a nutritional kick? Oh yes, I will be indulging.
I give this product four out of five wooden spoons.

Yes, I can imagine how yummy it would be in iced coffee.
