Even though there was a sign about the charity drive at my McD’s the staff had no idea what I was talking about when I asked about the donation. In fact my cashier said money was not going to charity and looked quite miffed at the question. Just ignore them and order the Big Mac.
We have been watching (like everyone else in Canada and the world) the horrific fire raging in Fort McMurray, Alberta, feeling completely helpless.
I heard through Twitter (#BigMacForFortMac) and Facebook that at McDonald’s this weekend starting today that if you bought a Big Mac $1 would go to Red Cross Alberta Fires Appeal.
So of course I had to go! I did a photoshoot for a friend of mine and then went and treated myself to a coffee frappé (my favourite) and of course…
A Big Mac! If there was ever a reason to go to McDonald’s for this treat, now is the time.
I did my part, now it is your turn! Help people by buying food. Be a foodie superhero!

What a great slogan — “A Big Mac for Fort Mac!” Thanks for the info, I hadn’t heard about this fundraiser.

It’s a perfect slogan, isn’t it? I’m not sure they’re really advertising much, only saw it online.

No big mac for me but I do like the slogan.
Just finished up all my sorting and ditching and now I’m headed to the showers. I will be back tomorrow to finish catching up on your fun foodie posts.

I would get very sick if I ate there, but Tim sometimes goes there for lunches. But back when I could eat there, I like the dollar menu double cheese thingy. It was a buck. No pickles, extra onions. That though, was looooong ago when the world was flat.
If I ate that today, I’d be done.
