Yes, we are still on holidays and we are getting the crappiest weather ever, as usual, during our time off together. Makes me want to scream! After the biggest rainy deluge of the year yesterday (after days and days of dark crappy humid disgusting weather) we woke up this morning to un-forecasted sunshine. I don’t trust it I tell you, I don’t trust it one bit.
Yesterday we gave up yesterday of dreams of doing anything fun on our vacation and moved to the surreal by buying Wii Sports Resort, our only escape. Well, that and ordering pizza. I am very picky about my pizza but have found this mushroom, onion and pepperoni pizza with extra pizza sauce from Jessy’s Pizza is excellent. Do not change one element, I added olives once and as much as I love them, they ruined this perfect combination.
IN THE MOOD FOR PIZZA? HERE ARE SOME IDEAS!
If you are up for making your own pizza, unlike lazy me on my so-called “vacation,” check out my how to grill pizza tutorial. Grilling your pizza is easy and fast, which prevents the house from getting over-heated in an oven that is on for a much longer time period.
Have some sundried tomatoes and roasted garlic? Why not make your own sundried tomato pizza pesto sauce and put it on a thin crust pizza with goat cheese are caramelized onions? So good!
Our favourite Vancouver Island pizza is Ali Baba’s Phat Philly Pizza: roasted chicken, green peppers, mushrooms and onions with ranch dressing and barbecue sauce topped with melted cheese. I know, sounds totally bizarre but is unbelievably good.
Yes, I have been lazy in the kitchen but hey, I am on my staycation whether or not the sun is shining. I did not want to leave the house yesterday during that deep and so-called final downpour and had zero energy to make something myself. As you can see though, I do love making homemade pizza practically any other day in my life.
BTW, in Vancouver, Supreme Pizza on Victoria Drive makes the best pizza I have ever had! Where if your favourite pizza retreat? What is your favourite pizza? Who is your favourite pizza dealer? I would love to dish about the world of local pizza! So important to find a good pizza place in the hood. Or do you prefer to make it yourself? Do tell!

Nice post! I am starting a pizza restaurant and one of my favorites is a grilled chicken, real bacon pieces, red onions, mushrooms, mozzarella cheese and instead of pizza sauce, we use ranch dressing! Yea… seriously. It is so good it is crazy! When we realized that not all pizzas have to have red sauces, the possibilities became endless!
I’m enjoying your blog. Especially the pizza posts! I just started a blog: http://www.PizzaFoodie.com. I look forward to more of your Pizza tastings!

We have a wonderful local place called Humble Pie (they give you a discount if you come in wearing tie-dye!)
The BEST combo they have is their Greek pie. It has salami, pepperoncinis, and a feta/mozzarella combo. SO good! (In fact, we haven’t had it in a while… I’m thinking we’ll have to order again soon!) 🙂

I keep trying to convince my husband to grill pizza for me, but so far no luck. I’ll just have to drool over yours.
