I have been very lucky to meet an awesome person named Stephanie. I think she might be a tad private so I will just say that she is an explorer like me and invited me to go on a tour of places near Main Street.
We intended to start at a burger joint but instead she introduced me to the coffee house Caffè Artigiano. I had seen many around Vancouver but had not yet gone into one to check it out. Very exciting! We went to the 4010 Main Street location for lunch.
I had not eaten yet so I wanted FOOD! Thankfully there was a lot to choose from at this Italian coffee bistro.
The Chicken & Brie Sandwich had my name on it!
It was a tough choice but I ended up picking the cranberry and orange scone.
I should say so! I ordered the Spanish Latte which is made with condensed milk and they turned it into a work of art. Not only that, when I asked if it was decaf and it wasn’t, they just made me another beautiful cup, no questions asked.
Stephanie ordered a croissant that came with butter and strawberry jam. We ended up having quite the croissant fest that day! I don’t think I am ever going to look at croissants the same way, LOL. More on that story to come.
The scone? Marvellous! Crisp on the outside, softer on the inside and wonderful with my delicious and definitely-decaffeinated Spanish Latte.
The decor is a tad unusual but you can not beat those tall ceilings and all the natural light that streams inside this warm, modern yet rustic coffee house.
It took a while for my sandwich to arrive but that is because they grilled it perfectly! Chicken with melted Brie? Oh yeah!!!
This is how our day began. I filled my tummy with lots of delicious “artisan” food and drink and we hit the road. The entire meal cost me around $20 but it was a treat. The servers were super-nice and friendly. They totally made me feel at home.
After this? Stephanie and I hit the road!
To be continued…
