Remember how I mentioned the other day that Chocolats Favoris opened in Victoria on the long weekend? My dear friend Jessica took her kids to check it out for me!
“We all had the baby soft serve cones. I had salted caramel, Sophie had dark chocolate, Dalton had cookies and cream and Charlotte had dolche de leche. All amazing and all so good. It wasn’t like a regular dipped cone where the chocolate was think and crackly. It was thick and soft…almost like biting into a square of chocolate but with ice cream in the middle.”
The company sent me this intel:

What is the coolest is they sent me my own can of their milk chocolate fondue! With my photo on it, which just blew me away. I was excited but a little nervous to heat up this can in boiling water so I turned to their website for directions.
And here is a little note of advice about dipping fruit into chocolate from me:
Of course you want to wash the fruit really well but make sure to put the fruit on a paper towel to remove the excess water and then let air dry for an hour on a dry surface. The biggest mistake with fondue is having the chocolate slide off because the fruit is too wet.
So here is how you warm up a can of chocolate fondue. You bring a very tall pot of water to a boil. Then? I took it off the heat.
I used a plastic oven mitt to put the can into the hot water. It has to be completely submerged for 20 minutes. Take out and let cool for 2 minutes.
Open, stir and then… DIP! I had Reg be my hand model for this photoshoot.
So how was it?! Unbelievably delicious. I mean it. I hate it when treats are too sweet and this was not at all. It was just perfectly creamy milk chocolate that melted in your mouth. Absolute perfection.
Chocolats Favoris has 12 flavours! After tasting their milk chocolate I absolutely want to try their coffee and crunchy hazelnut, my two favourite flavours. Although I love the combo of chocolate and orange too. So hard to choose!
Welcome to the west coast Chocolats Favoris! Now I REALLY can not wait to come and visit you on Government Street in Victoria. Your product is fantastic and I love the look of your store.
Special thanks to Jessica for being my roving reporter!

Their site doesn’t offer buying online unfortunately Fifi!

Most cans are lining with epoxy which contains BPA, since the fondue is heated in boiling water for the fondue, do you happen to know if their cans have removed the epoxy for consumer safety?
