Foodie friends and rockstars! Due to the stupid laws of “the man” I have to ask you to resubscribe to my newsletter. So if you want to continue getting secret intel about what is coming up on my blog and get additional chances of willing my giveaways… subscribe!
Damn the man and subscribe so we can keep in touch and I can avoid getting sued.
You rock!
Yeah! Down with THE MAN! I re-subscribed yesterday. And it’s not like this new anti-spam law is actually going to control spam, either. Sheesh!
Awesome Debra, thank you!!! It’s true, it probably won’t make any difference at all. In fact I’m getting more spam and newsletter today than I have in the last month!
Here’s my funny story – I work for a company, marketing, and sent e-mails to our customers asking them to either reply with a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’ for continued e-mail communications (as dictated by “The Man”. Three – quarters of my e-mails got ‘flushed in spam scanners’ (my server’s words, not mine) because I had used the word ‘spam’ (as in “Canada’s Anti-Spam legislation…”! I am not amused.
FYI – small company, in-house marketing, company e-mail – not an e-mail subscription high-tech to be had! *sigh*
AND – seems there’s a 36 month ‘transitional’ period where communication is ‘implied’, so nothing really needs to be done (unless the customer/reader has expressly requested no contact).
I did not get a re-subscription notice – will do so here, now. Thanks.
Oh that’s brutal! And it’s so true, the emails would be flushed. Oh it’s all so complicated. I couldn’t figure it out so I just created a new newsletter to be sure. Oh that’s too bad you didn’t get the newsletter giving you the heads up! Man, I’m going to lose a lot of readers as a result of this stupid legislation.
