Remember how my friend Fran sent me Epicure Crème de la Crème Earl Grey Tea? And I used it to make Earl Grey French toast? What was also in that lovely Epicure box was also their Pink Lady Herbal Blossom Tea.
The Product
For $10.00 you receive this gorgeous container with 35 g of this beautiful herbal blend. According to the website it contains rose petals, organic spearmint and a hint of hibiscus to create a “sassy pink blush”. As you can see on the actual container there are even more herbs and flowers and… they list spearmint as the first ingredient. Oh dear.
Inside the container you will find this bright lush pink bag containing the herbal tea mixture.
Pink Lady Herbal Blossom Iced Tea
This time, since the product is caffeine-free, I wanted to make a black and herbal tea blend of iced tea. I put 1 heaping tbsp of the blend onto some cheese cloth. Then I tied it up with butcher’s twine.
I filled a pitcher 3/4 of the way with water, added 6 decaf black tea bags and then the sachet of the Pink Lady herbal blend.
I really prefer cold-brewed iced tea so I put the pitcher into the fridge and let it sit overnight.
I also made a quick 1/2 cup water + 1/2 cup sugar syrup. Brought to a boil and then simmered together for 5 minutes.
The next day I removed the tea bags and added the syrup.

What a lovely refreshing summertime drink! So floral, so full of flavour… Tasted like a bouquet in a glass. The only problem? The spearmint dominated the drink for me. Sigh. Such a shame. Me and mint are just not good friends. It overwhelmed the blend for me but I am very picky about mint. If you love it, you will ADORE this blend! Me? It is just too strong.
Still, I am once again absolutely impressed with Epicure‘s quality when it comes to product, design and packaging. Everything is top notch and it is an excellent price. I can understand why my dear friend Fran and Epicure Consultant would want me to try it. It really is summer in a glass. I just happened to have a challenging relationship with mint which is my bad.
If you love mint and want to “drink flowers”, I give Epicure’s Pink Lady Herbal Blossom Tea five out of five wooden spoons. I just wish I could enjoy it too!

glad to know that it is very minty … I would have to avoid, too.

Mint is one of those things you either love or hate, isn’t it?

I didn’t know you don’t get along with mint Suzie. I should have sent you the Scarlet O’ Herbal Blossom instead. It is a new tea that just came out shortly after I sent you the last two teas. It has honeybush, hibiscus, elderflower and rose petals. I love making iced tea with it. We just steep it double strength with hot water and add the sugar while it’s hot then pour over ice. It is great for sangria too!! Thanks for the reviews! You rock!

Fran, I really didn’t know there was mint in there. Love the sound of the Scarlet one! Elderflower is one of my favourite things in the world. My pleasure Fran, you rock too!
