If you are looking for a super easy Halloween treat that can even be served as an hors d’oeuvre, look no further. I wanted to minimize Halloween disasters this year and went on Twitter and asked for some help.
I tweeted for some help, asking for Halloween foodie ideas using Reese’s mini peanut butter cups. Marie LeBaron from Make and Takes came to my aid. She sent me her link to her witch brooms and I was in!
I used a bamboo skewer to create a hole on the bottom of one of the cups. I made sure not to go through to the other side. Then I used a circular motion to open the hole a bit.
Then I slowly and careful wedged in the pretzel. Which surprisingly sort of popped right in there. Phew! And none of the pretzels ended up breaking which rocks!
Any treat that is inexpensive, witchy and that easy to make gets big thumbs up from me.
These are actually also quite delicious! Turns out I love the combo of peanut butter, chocolate and that smokey salty pretzel flavour a ton. I could eat these all in seconds. One warning? Do not leave these out uncovered too long. The pretzels soften quite quickly. Good thing they are so easy and fast to make!
Thanks Marie! This is perfect for the frugal foodie. I got the cups for $2 and the pretzels for $3. Tomorrow on my blog I will share how I used both together again for yet another fun but totally different Halloween treat!
It’s the most… wonderful-spooky-foodie-time… of the year…
Love it! Especially the mini size, even better for snacking!! Thanks for the link love 🙂
These are so cute and easy! I love peanut butter cups. One of my favorite candies. We buy them for trick or treaters and I allow myself this one night of the year to eat as many of them as I want (that’s a lot!)
Such a cute and inventive idea!
You are most welcome Marie, thanks for helping me out!
Oh there is nothing like getting Halloween treats you love and giving yourself permission to just go for it!
Thanks Debra and so simple! I never would have thought they would look so much like brooms but they do.
Love this idea! The kids love to help me by getting involved with ‘food’ prep and this is definitely one we could make together 🙂
