Carved apple skulls for my homemade apple cider
Halloween has always been fun for me and very real. I did not grow up to become disenchanted by the mythology of Halloween. It has only become more authentic.
Here I am on the left with my sister Shannon dressed up as army brats when I was in high school, a month after I accidentally shaved my head. Aren’t we toughies?!
Last year we had the warmest Halloween I can ever remember. It was like a wild yet gentle chinook and the moon was full. Here is my husband dressed as a magician under that crazy sky. How lucky am I to have found someone equally enamoured with the spookiness of Halloween?
Oh the dressing up and partying is almost done for the year. To return to a mundane life? How dull. Still, Percy the Crow assures me there will be many more foodie adventures to be had after Halloween. I will trust his wisdom on this matter.
