Right now, the last thing I should be doing is buying stuff. Unless it is food and water because we have a white hurricane coming our way. But! I just had to share what a deal I got at JYSK at Dartmouth Crossing.
I have been working slowly but surely on my kitchen to help get our house ready to go on the market. I have been purging, painting and navigating over painted shelves on the floor as I try and keep us fed. All with an injured back from falling down the stairs.
So when I saw this stunning rough-surfaced granite mortar and pestle for $12.99… I did it. I bought it! After all the work I have been doing, I bought the mortar and pestle of my dreams.
When I saw Robert Danhi use his in my Thai Cooking Essentials class to make homemade Sriracha (that still blows me away), my heart ached. OMG he is so funny too when he makes it. When Reg saw this one at JSYK and said, “Buy it,” I relented!
Yes, sometimes you have to let stuff go but as a foodie who believe 100% in having the right foodie tools, I invested AND got a crazy-good deal. Just had to share in case you are also in the market and have a JSYK close by.
When you are done shopping, stop by Second Cup for a bit of rest and relaxation. I highly recommend hot chocolate with a shot of hazelnut. Divine!
OK, now to prepare for the worst possible storm of our nightmares. Yay…
I love it and what a bargain price. I’m glad you got it for yourself.
Made peanut butter biscuits for the pups, as yesterday’s bake. So much fun.
Stay safe and warm.
Thank THW! I’m glad I bought it too. A little treat for all the work I’ve had to do. Oh wow, that’s awesome you made the treats, I bet they LOVED them!
If I don’t blog tomorrow, you will know I have lost power. I really, REALLY hope that doesn’t happen!
Hope you don’t lose power. Started snowing here again tonight. Dropped the temps and tomorrow, I am fixin’ to stay indoors and write another bake for the dogs. My goal is 5 new ones per week.
I have to stay away from your Recipe to Riches because I am behind on the show. Actually, when I went to look for it, I found Australia, or maybe it was New Zealand. I watch so much international food TV, that I am losing track on what show is from where.
So far, we are OK! Those dogs are spoiled, in a good way. Wow, what a goal! No problem, I totally understand about R2R. How on earth do you get to watch all these international cooking shoes? I would love to know your secret. Right now all I have is Martha on U.S. PBS.
