When Quirk Books offered to send me The Hello Kitty Baking Book: Recipes for Cookies, Cupcakes, and More, I was intrigued. I had heard the news that Hello Kitty was a girl, not a cat, which made her much more interesting to me. Plus, what kind of treats would Hello Kitty like to make and share?
Normally, I would all be about gross and scary and spooky treats this time of year. I really wanted to be The Foodie Queen of Halloween. But then, my life changed last year with the passing of my mom. I just could not see things the same way. Adding the cute and sweet elements of Kawaii to Halloween worked for me so I decided to do a giveaway for the cookbook.
Now in a lot of ways, this is my kind of cat. In fact, I wore this shirt in my video. Laser beam eyeballs? Attacking airplanes from the sky? King Kong Cat lives!!!
But right now, this sweet little treat-baking personification is what is calling me. I am looking forward to testing the recipes in the cookbook and sharing the journey with you.
For now though, go check out my giveaway and enter to win a copy of the cookbook! Contest is open to everyone, everywhere.

Wait? It’s not a cat? I had no idea. Seriously. Looks like a cat. It’s making me giggle though. Because well, it still looks like cat.
Suzie Ridler says
Yes, it was in the news recently that she is a little girl. Then they said she was a personification, like Mickey Mouse it. It’s all rather complicated!
Monica says
Where did you get the King Kong Cat t-shirt? I’ve been searching everywhere for one!
Suzie the Foodie says
I got it at Old Navy Monica but I don’t think they’re selling it anymore. It’s a guys t-shirt!
Monica says
Thanks! My husband is dying for one and we couldn’t find it anywhere. You’re probably right that they don’t sell it anymore, but I’m still going to check.
