I happened to make the discover that Starbucks has a secret menu! In celebration of the Frappuccino’s 20th Anniversary, there are six new flavours inspired by fans. When I heard that there was a cotton candy one, I had to go!
According to starbuckssecretmenu.net, Starbucks describes this particular frappé this way: Take our standard Vanilla Bean Crème Frappuccino, add raspberry syrup, blend it together, finish with whipped cream and boom, you have a round trip ticket to magic land…
So clever! But I had to taste it for myself.
I go out for Artist Dates once a week and like to journal with a sweet treat. I figured it was the perfect time to get out my new Starbucks card and indulge but! I did not get the whipped cream on top.
It was very delicious and even though it was quite sweet, it wasn’t too sweet to not be refreshing. It was like getting frozen raspberry milk which I personally thought was tasty! Not something I would indulge in all the time but when I am out writing to keep me inspired? Absolutely.
Have you tried them? What should I try next? Available flavours: Red Velvet Cake, Lemon Bar, Cinnamon Roll, Cupcake (which I have already had and enjoyed) and Caramel Cocoa Cluster.
No, I can’t drink ANY of those sugar drinks. And now, no more decaf coffee either. But the girls at Barnes (where they serve Starbucks here), gave me a new herbal tea to sip. Can’t recall the flavour but it was nice and bright.
Tim however, gets his caramel caramel caramel overload. But he might dig cotton candy, too. Though his favorite is maple cotton candy (in real life). Not sure if they make that drink but if they did, Tim would try for sure.
What?! What happened with the decaf coffee Ivy?! That’s a total bummer! And so unfair that Tim can have whatever he wants and you can’t. Maple cotton candy? Wow, never had that!
I’ve tried Cinnamon Roll and Caramel Cocoa Cluster. They were both pretty good. I liked CCC better (just ’cause I’m a chocolate person), but CR was kind of vanilla-y and cinnamon-y. Not quite what I was expecting, but good.
Thanks for letting me know Stacey! I think I’m more of a chocolatey person too but I’m going to see if I can try all of them. Thanks for your feedback!
This made me think of you and strawberry milk, Suzie 😉 What a treat – and yay you for going out on your Artist Dates!
As soon as I started drinking it Jamie, I thought the same thing! LOL. Except this one would have been yours, which I know you probably wouldn’t like as much as I liked strawberry milk. Yes! Two weeks in a row I have taken myself for writing and a treat. Woot!
