Getting naughty in the kitchen

December 6, 2009 by Suzie the Foodie 10 Comments

Naughty in the Kitchen

There is a big snowstorm outside which depresses me and makes me want to be bad, bad, bad! What is even worse is I made this breakfast two mornings in a show, my poor arteries.
So how is this naughty besides the calorie and grams of fat count on this plate? That is real bacon. Salt-reduced bacon, but real bacon. My husband is very anti-pork (long story) and for the first time while he is away and I am on my own I bought some bacon and fried it up and had it with Nutella-stuff Strawberry Craisin French Toast. Oh yeah, and some mandarin oranges for my token healthy side dish.
I can not go outside. I am stuck in here for god knows how long and I want comfort food with a pinch of rebellion. I may even make some seafood before he comes home, oh how he loathes shellfish, hehe.
So when do you get rebellious in the kitchen? What foods are on your naughty list? What pushes you over the edge of goodness towards foodie temptations?

I may or may not have eaten Tiramisu, cheesecake or ice cream for lunch in the past.

All of the food that feels like a really naughty indulgence is related to whether or not my husband likes to have it. I try not to eat food he doesn’t like when he’s around so when I have an evening on my own, I’ll break out the stuff he doesn’t like. Luckily for me, it’s usually just popcorn or slices of apple slathered with peanut butter.

omg. i bought a small jar of that nutella. once. it lasted about 36 hours. because i ate it with a spoon. all of it. so yah. i tend to not be able to even brig such nastiness in this home. anything sweet is devoured ASAP.

one thing i do crave is salty fattening foods. my top fave is Poutine. (a quebec/canadian dish that consists of french fries topped wiht white cheese curds and then gravy.)it really sits in yor belly like a bucket of lead, but omg, i crave it like nothing else. and if you can get it from a chip stand/truck with homemade fries – the best! slurp. so yah. thats my confession šŸ™‚

    Absolute droolage!

I don’t crave specific foods so much, as someone to cook meals for me. šŸ™‚

Oh dear, probably kettle chips stuffed in my mouth in large handfuls. I just don’t keep them in the house in case the temptation is too much.

chocolate ganache cake that my local grocery store often makes.. If I am feeling especially bad I actually have to pull over to the side of the road and have a taste because I can’t wait until I get home… šŸ˜‰
