Habibi’s Mediterranean Foods Hummus, Mediterranean Black Bean Dip & Garlic Dip

Habibi's Mediterranean Foods Hummus, Mediterranean Black Bean Dip & Garlic Dip

I recently had these Habibi’s Mediterranean Foods products hand-delivered to my door to product test. You know I am crazy about hummus and I love dips and sauces in general but when I saw they had chocolate tahini… I could not say no!

I wanted to start off conservatively at first with their all natural Lebanese-style hummus.

Yes, it looks like just about every other hummus I have tried.

But! It turns out not all hummuses are created equal. Habibi’s is super light and fluffy.

And tangy! Reg loved it too and completely devoured off the last of the hummus when I gave it to him for a post-workout snack. He said it was by far the best hummus he has ever had.

Luckily I had already been snacking on it and also made my own salad wrap with it. I like to put a layer of hummus on the bottom.

I add mounds and mounds of veggies and normally top it with a creamy salad dressing.

This time I added their Lebanese Garlic Sauce. Wow!!! Tons of garlic flavour and adds creaminess too. I loved this and can not wait to try it on some grilled meat!

Over the weekend it was crazy-hot so I wanted a bit of a fiesta and was inspired by their Mediterranean Black Bean Dip with Sun Dried Tomato.

First we had it just as a dip with our tortilla chips and it was delicious. Reg did not pick up on the sun dried tomato flavour though (he is not a fan) but I loved the earthiness.

I also used it in our chicken burritos for dinner. I usually like to make my own flavoured bean sauce but this did perfectly! Wonderful flavour and texture.

Habibi’s only uses natural ingredients, is a Canadian company and has its roots in the Vancouver restaurant business. I was honestly a little skeptical that they could top all the other hummus products I have tried but they did just that.

In fact, I have loved everything I have tried so far and am finally feeling adventurous enough to take on their Sriracha Jalapeño Hummus and Chocolate Tahini. If anyone is going to do those products justice, I now feel confident Habibi’s will.

I give all these products five out of five wooden spoons. I can not think of anyway to improve upon their flavour or quality. Bravo Habibi’s!

I see that Planet Organic here in Edmonton carries their products so I’ll give that hummus a try sometime!
