My journey with Earth’s Own began when I reviewed their Amoré Almond + Dairy Drink Vanilla. It was a little too decadent for me but as a treat, I thought it was great.
Then they decided to do a sponsored giveaway on my blog which I posted for Halloween. Which meant a lot to me. When people and companies do awesome things for me, I like to respond in kind.
Independent Product Review
They had sent me oodles of coupons (see, they totally rock) and then paying out of my own pocket, I have been taste testing their products. Constantly! For the last month I have almond gone completely without milk. Which is our house, is a big deal.
From my morning drink to my weird breakfast granola concoction, I have been testing all of their products and they have a lot!
Foodie Results?
I did a review of their vanilla almond beverage back in November. It was a little sweet for me at 80 calories per serving but it was delicious.
So then I tried their unsweetened and unflavoured milk at just 35 calories per serving with no sugar added. Darn it, it was not sweet enough! Very good though, reminded me a lot of traditional dairy milk.
Then I bought the “Original” Almond Fresh and guess what? Yup. It was “just right”. My Goldilocks meter was saying, “Ding ding ding!” With 60 calories per serving, the flavour and consistency were great. This was the one. Or so I thought!
But they had even MORE products available and I just had to keep going. I bought their chocolate beverage even thought it is 130 calories per serving! Wow, that is sweet! Unlike the others, I drank it on its own and it was good but it did not taste like “real” chocolate milk (AKA dairy to me). It is good but similar to my experience with chocolate soy beverages, it was not the same. That said, it worked great in a chocolate drink I make and is perfect for making chocolate “milk” shakes. Excellent quality and wow, what a treat.
The Winner
I am still kind of in shock that their coconut version of Almond Fresh is my favourite. Hands down! I am not always a huge fan of coconut in general but with the almonds? It is delicious. As the box says, “We thought the idea of putting Almond and Coconut together was a bit nutty and first – then we tasted it, and WOW! The real nutty taste of almonds and the sweet rich flavour of coconut add up to extreme deliciousness and great nutrition.”
I could not agree more and I honestly did taste “The Wow!” when I had this right away. It has 80 calories per cup and is perfect for what I like to add milk to. I have bought at least three containers of it and with the Original version of Almond Fresh, I may never go back to drinking regular dairy again. They are THAT good.
Happy Holidays Almond Fresh! I give your coconut almond beverage five out of five wooden spoons and it is one of my favourite foodie products of the year!
