Harvey’s Delivery With Skip The Dishes… What You Need To Know

The Restaurant

Harvey's Delivery With Skip The Dishes... What you need to know

I love Harvey’s. I have always thought their burgers were incredible and loved that you could have them made just the way you want them. The only problem? None in my hood at all.

The Inspiration

Another confession? I love Big Brother! I remember finding out who won season one back in 2000 while camping under the Lions Gate Bridge in North Vancouver looking for a place to live. Big Brother Canada is even better than the U.S. show (by a lot IMHO) and last Friday my sisters and I got together to watch the grand finale. Normally we just pick up salads but because Big Brother Canada was promoted by Skip The Dishes I thought, wouldn’t it be fun to use the app to get dinner and then watch the show together?

The “Deal”

I choose Harvey’s because I had a book of coupons thanks to my sister Shannon and on the book of coupons there was an advertisement saying they were associated with Skip The Dishes. Perfect I thought!

The Ordering

The app worked great. We each ordered exactly what we wanted including toppings for the burger but then I went to add the coupon code. It would not accept it! Turns out according to the fine print that the book of coupons is only good for in-store purchases. Grumble grumble…

We still went through with the order. I have to admit that watching the driver come pick up the food on my phone with a countdown to how many minutes it will be before that person turned up at our door was exciting.

Foodie Conclusion and Advice

Harvey's Delivery With Skip The Dishes... What you need to know

If you are ordering food through the app for the first time, look for generic discount codes you can use before you complete your order. We still managed to get $3 off. The thing I was most impressed with (other than the food which was great) was that they got everything done perfectly. Just the way we ordered and considering we ordered three different things that was impressive. It would have been nice to have some kind of note on the burgers to let us know which one was which but still, good job.

The burger was a little cool for me but considering it was delivery, I give this foodie experience four out of five wooden spoons. I am very excited that there are now many options for getting food in other than pizza and can not wait to explore more options. A whole new world of food has opened up for us and in some cases you even get free delivery like we did. Each place is different. We chose one that had free delivery with a $20 purchase. Totally worth it and super exciting.

Did you get free delivery because it was your first order? What is the delivery charge ordinarily?

Very good questions! Actually they did send me a coupon on my phone but I couldn’t figure out how to access it (I am new to cell phone technology). We actually got free delivery because it was a promotion through the particular Harvey’s we ordered from. With a purchase of over $20 this one offered free shipping which was incredible. Not sure about the other restaurants how much it would cost. I guess it depends on what they charge. We were good with free though! 🙂

Great to know! Harvey’s does “Build-A-Bowl” which, with the Angus burger cut into the salad, is good! AND their corn topping is grilled, which is one-up on the Chipotle Mexican Grill across the border in Niagara Falls NY 😉

Oh wow, I had no idea Cathy! That is so smart and grilled corn? That is just impressive. I will have to check it out, thank you!
