Please note: contest is now closed, thanks for the awesome turnout! Winners will be announced Wednesday.
It is true! Today is my blog’s second birthday. I can hardly believe two years have gone by since I started food blogging. For those curious, here is my first post! By creating this blog I decided to focus my energy into making my life tasty and better than is used to be. I hope I have done that for you too.
So much has happened in two years and a lot of that has to do with you, my readers. Your comments, support and friendship have helped make my blog rock. I could not do this without you. As a result, I am going to be doing giveaways all April long.
You can read my review of them here. These bagels are only available in Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic provinces so to enter, you must live in these areas. I also need a way to contact you so include your email address, especially those anonymous commenters.
I promise that the next giveaway will be open to anyone, everywhere so don’t get discouraged! There are many giveaways coming up!
To enter, leave a comment about your favourite type of bagel, a fun bagel story… anything bagel-related is fine. Include your email address, especially if you are commenting anonymously. If you could also become a follower of my blog, I would appreciate it. The more followers I have, the more giveaways I will be asked to do!
Winner swill be announced this Wednesday! Good luck everybody and make sure to include email or contact info OK?! I need to know how to get in touch with you. If you don’t, you will be disqualified.

Happy 2nd Birthday!
I loveee bagels. I’d probably be a lot better off if I ate thin bagels instead of the regular kind! Ha! My faves are onion, everything and sesame. Mmm now I’m hungry!
Thanks for the giveaway!

FUN!!!
I love bagels! But I’m really not into sweet flavours (like cinnamon raisin…I know *GASP*!!) I much prefer savoury. Who doesn’t love onion breath after breakfast?!
Congrats on two years! YAY!

Suzie, my favourite bagels are from Cantors bakery in Montreal. They boil the bagels before baking and it just does something really nice to them.
Since I can not go to Cantors that often ( I live in Ontario – north of Guelph)I love everything bagels, with butter or Herb and Garlic cream cheese.

I’ve been on a serious bagel (and OJ) kick this year for some reason. Although I normally go for regular bagels I have tried the PC version of thin bagels…um, not impressed. After reading your review, though, I’m definitely interested in getting my hands on some Dempster’s.
Happy Blog Birthday!

Happy 2nd Birthday!
I’ve love bagels as long as I can remember. My Granfathers family had a bakery on Harbord street in Toronto so of course, we always had fresh bagels in the house. I think my favorite bagel right now is poppy seed. Thanks for a grea!t giveaway

Happy Birthday to Suzie’s fabulous blog!!
As for my bagel story, many many many years ago, I was road-tripping across the USA with my brother en route to a wedding of a friend of mine in California. After several days on the road and completely sick of fast food, we exited the highway to find the most incredible little bagel cafe. The cafe was housed in an old home and had every square inch of wall covered in little plaques and fun sayings. They had a huge chalkboard over a half wall that accessed their tiny kitchen with dozens of the best bagel sandwich concoctions imaginable. I still, to this day, remember my sandwich: fresh roasted turkey, cream cheese, sprouts, tomato slices, and homemade cranberry sauce. Amazing.
I wish I could remember the name of the place – it may not even be there anymore as I’m sure that we visited it in the summer of 1996. My guess is that it must have been in or just outside of Cedar City, Utah, as I recall someone mentioning that they had a very large Stratford Festival there and were trying to become the sister city to Stratford, Ontario (just 30 min from where I life now!) I also remember that it was just off the main highway (15?) coming from Salt Lake City. Should any of your fabulous readers be from that area, I would LOVE to try to figure out what the place was/is called!

I’m not entirely sold on the idea of thin bagels, but I guess a coupon to try them for free is one way to try to convince me! ๐
(I am in QC, btw.) ๐

Happy Birthday!
What a great way to celebrate – also my favourite, as a Toronto bagel chain (What-a-bagel) gives you a dozen bagels if you go on your birthday. Nothing like free bagels on your birthday – I like the “Everything” bagels.

And where are my manners?
Happy Blog Birthday! ๐

Have a great blog birthday ! and you have wonderful giveaways too – your followers definitely appreciate it! Hmm my fave bagel is , without a doubt, the ones they used to sell at the Great Canadian Bagel Company here in Ottawa before they closed their doors. Their Maple one was divine ! Lathered with cream cheese and served up with hot coffee – nothin’ better!

Happy Blog B-Day Suzie, you have truly been paramount in making my life more delicious than ever! I look forward to reading your posts daily and feel blessed to have made such a fun and talented foodie friend like you. Thanks for all the inspiration and for inviting us into your kitchen, keep making us hungry!
OK, as for bagels. Love plain, toasty white bagels slathered with a savoury cream cheese (garlic and herb at the moment).
Grocery Alerts Canada says
I just like a simple bagel with cream cheese.

Too bad I can’t enter. I am so curious about these new bagels from Dempsters. Regardless, I will tell you about my favourite thing to do with a bagel. When I lived in Esquimalt and would go out to the bar with my friends we would all walk over to Timmies after the bar closed and have a bite to eat and a coffee. There were a few of us that liked the “everything bagel” with herb and garlic cream cheese, cucumber slices and bacon made into a sandwich. Soooo naughty and delish but I swear it kept the hang over away. lol
Now, I mostly just have bagels when I make my own. I have a recipe for my bread machine then yes I boil them (that’s what makes a bagel a bagel) then bake them. I’ve been experimenting with filling them with cream cheese like the bagelfulls you can buy. So far it’s just too much work.
Good luck to the rest of you in winning the coupon!
