Kii Naturals Cranberry Pumpkin Seed CRISPS Artisan Crackers

October 16, 2013 by Suzie the Foodie 1 Comment

Kii Naturals Cranberry Pumpkin Seed Crisps

I love it when foodie products arrive at my door! Especially when they are swaddled in loose muslin and wrapped like a present in cellophane. This is how Kii Naturals Cranberry Pumpkin Seed CRISPS Artisan Crackers arrived to my home.

The Product

Kii Naturals Cranberry Pumpkin Seed Crisps

These artisan crackers come in many flavours: Goji Berry & Pistachio, Apricot Orange Almond, Date & Walnut, Cranberry Pumpkin Seed, Rosemary Pistachio and Mango Curry & Cashew. I received the Cranberry Pumpkin Seed. Made with Himalayan Pink Salt and Buttermilk, these crackers have no preservatives. Kii Naturals make their products with authentic ingredients, from where they naturally grow.

The Product Testing

“Kii Naturals starts with the freshest ingredients, then uses traditional artisan baking methods to retain their natural goodness.”

Artisan indeed! These crackers are very thin yet have been sliced so perfectly that you can see all the nuts and seeds sliced perfectly like a ninja attacked them with a samurai sword.

Even the flax seeds are perfectly sliced through! These ingredients are harvested from around the world and then milled and baked at the Kii artisan bakery. I love that the president Sujay Shah writes on the packaging that many of the farmers have become lifelong family friends.

Foodie Flavour

The crackers are quite delicious and you can taste the major components like the pumpkin seeds and the cranberries. I personally wanted more “umph” so I added a little bit of goat cheese which I think worked great with the cranberries in particular. I tried it with peanut butter but that was too strong. Reg took them into work and in no time there was nothing left. People loved them as-is and were so impressed they are preservative-free.

I love that this is a family business, working with farmers from Europe, Asia, Africa, The Middle East and South America to get the best fruits, nuts, seeds and grains in the world. These are stunning and elegant crackers and they can be found at major grocery stores: Walmart, Loblaw, Sobey’s, Safeway, Overwaitea Foods, Co-Op stores, Bulk Barn and hundreds of independent retailers across Canada.

Foodie Conclusion

I think the product is excellent quality and if you are looking for something special in a cracker, you will be happy with Kii Naturals Cranberry Pumpkin Seed CRISPS Artisan Crackers. My only complaint in that once I opened the package, keeping them fresh and crispy was not easy. I tried to wrap them in cling film but having a resealable package would have been helpful.

For a party where you just open the package and put them out to be devoured, this would be unnecessary of course but for me, I like to enjoy a couple a day and they did loose their crispness. I give this product, four and a half out of five wooden spoons.

I love artisan crackers. I’ve never seen this particular brand here in western Canada, but I’ll look next time I’m in the market for some. The brand that seems to be in all our stores comes from BC, I believe.
