Last night, despite being sick, Reg and I went to the VanDusen Botanical Garden’s Festival of Lights. You can read and see way more about our magical night here.
I wore my cupcake monster hat that I made which is good because I came across the Abominable Snowman.
I think my hat scared him off. BTW, if you go, skip the gnome show. That scared us off!
I just had to take a photo of one of the biggest whisks I have ever seen!
But back to the lights! They have a wonderful little gingerbread house that the Grinch was checking out.
Gingerbread men were everywhere!
Don’t worry, I made sure Reg got kissed under the mistletoe. He is so cute!
Although there were lots of foodie options available and we were starving, we were on a budget.
No lemonade and mini donuts for us but that is OK.
I did donate to the Make a Wish Foundation though and lit a candle for someone I know who is going through cancer treatment.
These were one of our favourite decorations, they are made from water bottles! Can’t be Vancouver without an environmental message, I love it.
So I went home, made a soup with black-eyed peas for prosperity for the year and flavoured it with my friend Wayne’s homemade bacon! Now that was a fantastical foodie day. I don’t think it could have been more perfect. Other than me being sick of course.

Get well soon, Suzie. Love the single googly eye on your cupcake monster hat, lol!

Thanks Debra! Drinking tea and eating chocolate, best way I know to fight a cold. Thank you! I am totally enamoured with my cupcake hat, especially the monster side, thanks for noticing the single goggly eyeball, LOL.

Sorry to read that you’re still sick. Maybe doughnuts next time.
Love the Bumble and you, just chillin’ for a photo.
