The Inspiration
Back in November I had the opportunity to review Little Saigon’s sauces that were on Dragons’ Den (which are amazing BTW!). This spring I contacted them about me visiting their Yaletown location at 1263 Pacific Blvd in downtown Vancouver.
The Location
Lucky for me, they said yes! They are such a sweet family and what an honour for me.
Happy Hour
Little Saigon suggested I come during their Happy Hour which happens between 2:30 and 5:30 pm.
The Restaurant
The restaurant is not huge but it has personality! This incredible mural is painted along the back wall separating the diners from the kitchen.
Those incredible sauces are proudly on display for all to see.
The decor is simple but classy with a touch of foodie fun.
The Food
Their Happy Hour deal is quite incredible. You get three items off their eight-item menu for just $12. What a fantastic deal.
I got to try their Prawn & Pork Salad Roll with their peanut sauce.
You know how much I LOVE that peanut sauce. OMG, delicious!!! Everything was so fresh and clean, no MSG…
If this is the mini Pho, I can not imagine how big the regular Pho must be! I added the garnishes, lime juice and then tasted a spoonful and knew there was something missing. Usually when I order Pho, it is take out and there are all these little sauces you add. I asked my server what I was missing.
A NEW sauce! They have a SPICY hoisin for the Pho.
Oh yeah… Much better! I did not find it super spicy, just incredibly flavourful and exactly what the Pho needed.
I ordered the pork spring rolls but many of these appetizers had vegetarian options. These are available in veggie and tofu.
Dipped in their dip-able fish sauce (which still blows my mind that they created such a genius foodie product) it made these crunchy treats a little funky in the best of ways. Damn!
Thank You
As I photographed the food and space, it was clear this is a well-loved spot for many people.
A couple sat at the window on a date. A few guys hung out together for good snacking food and a family sat at the back enjoying these phenomenal appetizers at a fantastic price.
Little Saigon is a special restaurant in a fabulous location. I knew their sauces were amazing but now I know their food is too. I can not believe you get all that food for just $12. It has to be one of the best deals not only in Yaletown but in Vancouver.
I wish you continued foodie success Little Saigon! Thank you so much for your hospitality and generosity.

Love that they welcomed you. That picture of them eating is fun,
I never ate peanut sauce, or I did, once so long ago that I forget what it’s like. I shall make some and see. Sounds fun.
Can’t beat the price!

Yes! Peanut sauce is incredible, you will love it and you’re right, you can’t beat those prices.

Did you have a peanut sauce formula on here once? I thought you did because I love peanut sauce for ice cream and I thought, that I would try yours for savoury. Or am I remembering wrong? Either way, I love peanuts (though sometimes they’re not a fan of me).

Yes! I have many. One for pasta: http://www.suziethefoodie.com/spicy-peanut-noodles-with-steak/ One for kebabs: http://www.suziethefoodie.com/dietitians-of-canada-cook-beef-kebabs-with-peanut-sauce/ and one for dipping in general: http://www.suziethefoodie.com/fabulous-five-ingredient-peanut-dipping-sauce/

Fantastic! Much thanks. Our staycation is coming up in two days. This will be fun to make during that. I’ll be back to print the formulas (on the tablet now).
Thanks!
