It has been two weeks since the packers came and we are still living in a hotel in Vancouver. It has pushed me to my absolute physical limits. By the end of the second flight I was in so much pain I thought I was going to be sick and I have been struggling ever since. Our stuff is supposed to arrive by the end of this week, fingers crossed!
When we got to the hotel I started laughing my ass off when Reg showed me that there was a Michaels outside (I am a big crafter geek) AND a Blenz. Two personal nirvanas less than a block away. We have been living off Blenz‘s Protein Mocha Power Shakes. Even though their fruit cups are a ridiculous $4 I have been indulging to fend off scurvy.
We have been commuting to the apartment regularly to prep it and painting is next on the agenda. I am leaving my retro kitchen as-is. I have even found some kitchen treasures already! I can’t wait to write about that.
Overall, in general, I have been feeling better. But the move on my body has been brutal. So I am in this weird relieved but super-pained limbo. I just need our stuff to come so I can get into bed and rest and be in my kitchen and eat vegetables, something I barely can remember at the moment.
Not to worry, lots of food posts on the way, sharing what we have been surviving on and enjoying along the way. Eating out is getting old though, especially when you’re on a strict budget. I can not wait to hit the market and come back to my pots and pans and really make a home-cooked meal.

Love that photo of you two on the plane, Miss Hello Kitty! And yes, by all means, DO avoid contracting scurvy.

Reg loves hamming up photos and this one makes me laugh! I got that Hello Kitty at a kid store at the airport for a third of the price as an adult one and it’s so cute! Much more character.

Eating out gets old quick, I find. Budget or no budget. I can’t wait for you to get some veggies and be able to play in your own kitchen.

Oh I know, so bored of eating out! McD’s has been the healthiest cheap place to get food, salads and smoothies.

Suzie Ridler says
Yup, meal, just edited it!
