It doesn’t happen very often but sometimes a product comes around that is so bad that I have to rant. Even more rare is when written words are not enough. I have been told I am an expressive person but until I saw myself on video, I had no idea just how much.
Quaker, I have no idea how the “Protein” version of your Maple Brown Sugar Oatmeal got onto store shelves. Don’t you do any product testing at all? It appears it isn’t even listed with your other oatmeals on your site. Yet! It is STILL being sold at my store.
This product gets my lowest possible rating: straight to the compost bin. AND… I want my $4 back.
Debra She Who Seeks says
Great rant, Suzie! Yes, video definitely conveys your expressiveness — love it!

Yay! Thanks Debra! At least I got it out of me and rarely has a product made me this angry. So glad it came across because I have to warn the public of this product’s awfulness.

I – too saw a display of them. I wondered about the Protein one. I bought the Maple and Brown Sugar one – for whatever – such as a snack. I paid $2.00. I did not buy the Protein one. Glad I did not.
BUT – I prefer homemade. I take Oatmeal and Red River cereal and cook up a bowl full – just like when I was young. I put some brown sugar and milk on it. Yummmmm.
Suzie Ridler says
That’s a good price Lucy! You made a wise choice.
Suzie Ridler says
Also, I love Red River Cereal! I have to put a heck of a lot of sugar in it though, LOL. So good.

I’ve also bought this by accident. And been equally disgusted!
Suzie Ridler says
You too Michelle?! Oh I feel so vindicated but am sorry you went through that too.

Great video! Thanks for the info. I love the reg. maple and brown sugar, but get it only as a snack (too much sugar).
Jeanette O'Rourke says
I bought it by mistake and also noticed the weight when I got it home (which is when I realized it was higher in protein). My 10 year old made it without knowing and spit it out. He said “what is wrong with this oatmeal.” Then I realized that he had the protein oatmeal….I said, oh it can’t be that bad and then tried it myself. You are 100% right, it is disgusting, and mine went bye bye too!!
Suzie Ridler says
MaryLynn, thank you for your feedback and I would try a lower sugar version of the maple if they had it!
Jeanette, thank you for letting me know that you and your son completely agree and I had the same exact physical reaction as he did. I mean, there is something wrong with it! Who would eat that crap?
