I am sad to report that Oliver’s Café on Victoria Drive has officially closed. Reg and I went to visit it at the beginning of the year and we really loved the food and our server was cute as a button.
I have a feeling that they wanted to appeal to the high school crowd and just could not complete with the pizza place across the street. I started to get worried when I saw signs in the window for $1 peanut butter and jam sandwiches.
And they left the blue parrot behind! Oh so sad. Let’s move on to happier news…
Kent’s Kitchen
As of April 17th, Kent’s Kitchen at Victoria and 41st has re-opened!!! When I saw the sign announcing their return, I got super excited. I walked by their first day back and the crowd was crazy. What is funny is they have twice the space now but are still only using the original half. I am sure they will be adding more to their new space soon.
Oh yeah!!! I went back on the second day when it wasn’t so crazy and got myself some sweet and sour pork, lemon chicken and tons of chow mein. I LOVE that place!
Treats in the Mail
Simply Orange sent me this awesome brunch media kit to celebrate their new product Simply Orange with Coconut Water. I just picked it up and will be reviewing it soon.
My friend Janet sent me the coolest gift! I have seen Funny Side Up Skull Egg Shaper all over Pinterest but now I have one of my very own. I can not wait to product test this! I am so curious if my results will look anything like their pin.
So much to be grateful for! Life is yummy and bright and awesome! I hope it is for you too.

Oh dear, restaurants do tend to come and go, don’t they? It’s a tough business.

It’s so true! There are a ton of restaurants around here too. If they had gone a more traditional cafe I think they would have been fine but trying to compete food-wise???
