Mail-delivered artisan meats from all over the world delivered to your home? Can the Carnivore Club be a meat-lovers dream come true?
As soon as I saw them on Dragon’s Den pitch their idea to deliver “an assortment of the finest hand crafted cured meats, from an artisan deserving of the opportunity to showcase their handcrafted meats to the discerning members of Carnivore Club” I knew I wanted in. I thought it was a genius idea!
What’s In The Box?
Recently they sent me one of their boxes of meat to check out!
This month the products came from Espuna, a company in Spain that has been making their products since 1917.
The Products Part 1
Just going through the foodie treasures I got hungry immediately and I gravitated to the salami sticks.
I began with the chorizo canitas. The salami sticks were thin and super tasty. I could have eaten the package in one sitting. The only issue? The aftertaste! Oh it was so strong and overpowering. Whatever you do, do not finish with the chorizo canitas sticks.
I have heard and seen so much of serrano ham on cooking shows but never had it myself.
It is slowly cured meat that is so thinly sliced. Sadly, for this foodie, it was too fibrous and fatty for me to enjoy. It just was not my thing but if it is yours, this is probably the best you will ever find.
Part 1 of the Carnivore Club taste test has been a bit of a challenge for me so far but that is just part of the exciting process of receiving random meat in the mail.
Not to worry, there are lots of other products in there that I have a good feeling about and will share with you soon.

Your phrase “receiving random meat in the mail” just struck me as so hilarious!
