I was so excited to see that PC Black Label’s Truffle Aioli is now being sold at my Superstore! It was my number one pick for 2011’s best new product and I could not get it! Not fair!
Hearing my plight at the dearth of said product at my own store, Loblaw sent me three bottles! I mean seriously, that was super nice.
Sadly, the expire dates were around the corner and I was desperate. I went through one container in that time period (easily) but the rest I divvied up in my ice cube trays.
I put them in a bag in my freezer until I could test the theory that it doing so was really a bad idea.
And… it is. I put some of the cubes of aioli in my mini chopped with some canola oil and chopped away. It first it was looking good.
Then it started to look a little… thin. I added it to my sandwich and was left with it dripping all over me and my plate. I tried several versions of the same sort of technique… Nothing worked.
Then I gave up. I got rid of the rest of the aioli and felt oh so very sad. And then… I found it in my Superstore by the salad bar! I could not believe it. Although on a tight budget, I picked up a bottle. I had to. What a treat!
I noticed in a couple of days that they were down to just one bottle. Looks like I am not the only happy foodie camper to see this product at their store!
This is what I am looking forward to most: Eggs Charlotte. My favourite. This aioli is the best Hollandaise replacement. Zero effort, all the cholesterol. And I am going to love every bite.
Thank you Loblaw for bringing this product to my store! I am so relieved to no longer have to try and resurrect your amazing product from its frozen grave.

I am on the lookout for this at my Superstore. What aisle is in down? Is it with the mayo?
Suzie Ridler says
It was actually across from the salad bar in the produce section. Right in between that and the fish station. I thought it would be with the mayo too but not at this store. I hope you can find it! I had a roast chicken sandwich on my dill bread and thought I had died and gone to heaven!

Oh Suzie you have me so curious to try this Aioli, and as well stocked as our Loblaws is, I can never seem to find it. I won’t give up though. The eggs look divine, I love poached eggs, it’s my fave way to eat them. Too bad about the freezing, I had a feeling it would be runny when thawed, I guess some foods just can’t handle the extreme temp. transitions.

Oh what a shame Ava! This is the first time my store had it. I gave up a while ago looking for it but then bam, it was there! So don’t give up. Oh I love poached eggs to. So good.
I had heard that foodie masters could bring aiolis back from the freezer but I am sure not one of them.
