This is one of my favourite snacks: banana with mocha yogurt but this time I topped it with my homemade low-er fat chocolate sauce and some chocolate PC Blue Menu Granola Boost with Protein. Put it in a pretty sundae dish and this somewhat healthy snack looks like a dream!
Was it? Hmmm… When I tasted this granola right out of the bag, I was not overwhelmed with chocolatey flavour. In fact all I personally taste is the chocolate oil and zero chocolate. Put on the sundae it adds very strong crunch but I find it a tad bitter. Reg disagrees though. He actually loved it on the same sundae.
The idea behind the product is quite brilliant. A great way to add fibre, protein and 8 vitamins and minerals with just a little sprinkle. I have no qualms with that at all, I think it is a genius idea. I just do not find it adds to the eating experience, other than providing additional crunch.
I want way more chocolate flavour and tone it way back with the coconut oil which overpowers it for me. I am sure there will be people who disagree, like Reg. But that is my opinion. Personally, I can only give this product three out of five wooden spoons when it comes to flavour. Will I put it on my yogurt? Yes, because I like adding all those healthful goodies but it will not be to enhance the eating experience. Even at just $2.99, I probably will never buy this product.

I’m as fond of chocolate as the next person but I dislike it on anything resembling breakfast cereal. Probably because my Mom would never buy Count Chocula cereal when we were kids.

Maybe that is why I don’t like it so much, although I did grow up with Boo Berry cereal, LOL.
