The Product
President’s Choice Our Great Canadian Thick & Juicy Beef Burgers are a pretty cool idea for celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday.
You get eight frozen maple leaf shaped burgers in one package and you cook them from frozen.
Product Testing
I grilled them five minutes per side, super simple.
I decided to do more than just one product test at a time.
I slathered them with PC Bacon & Maple Barbecue Sauce. It seemed like a natural fit.
Foodie Results
Sadly, I personally did not like them with the sauce.
Sure, they looked pretty but I felt like it hid the flavour of the beef.
Well they had a lot of competition. More of the barbecue sauce tomorrow.
Overall
The second time I made the burgers without the barbecue sauce I enjoyed the burger much more. Tender, beefy and quite delicious. My only beef with the product is you actually lose meat due to the maple leaf shape but as gimmick’s go, it is pretty darn cool and will be fun at Canadian barbecues all summer.
I give PC Our Great Canadian Thick & Juicy Beef Burgers four out of five wooden spoons (if you skip the maple bacon bbq sauce).

Well, it’s nice to see a marketing gimmick that is truly CANADIAN for a change!

Yes, I agree! I like that it was symbolic and they did not mess with the actual food. Very cool.

Sadly a lot of their products are seasonal for just one season. You never know Janet, maybe they will come back.
