Oh the dreaded store-bought box of cookies! Will putting them in a fancy black package inside a silver bag finally make me like something that I did not bake myself? Can President’s Choice Black Label Chocolate & Hazelnut Cookies from Switzerland impress me?
Shockingly… Hell yeah! And no, it wasn’t because of the pretty packaging.
We loved these cookies. Thin, crispy, just enough chocolate with lots of hazelnut flavour… Reminiscent of Nutella with additional hazelnut texture in a crispy cookie. Reg said, “This is one of the best things I have ever eaten!”
They tasted fresh, the chocolate was good quality and I love the hazelnut flavour. My only complaint is you do not get very many cookies for the $4.99 box. They were gone in a heartbeat here. For a finicky foodie who is looking for something fancier than your average cookie though, these will fit the bill. One element I am not liking about this line is, as much as the photography is beautiful, you can not tell what the product looks like inside. Which I find annoying.
At that price though I probably will not buy them again, as much as I adored them. As a result, I give this product four out of five wooden spoons.

What the hell could you do with the tomato and anchovy puree? That’s the one I’m curious about.
Now if only we had a recipe so we could duplicate the delicious cookies in our own kitchen! 😉 I love hazelnut and chocolate!
Those cookies look like chocolates, I bet they were yummy. I voted for the San Marzanos, the Italian in me is curious.

It’s a toss-up between the hot chocolate and the tomato paste/anchovy….I’ll go with the hot chocolate.
