The Decadent Peanut Butter Ice Cream Sandwich

For the record, I hate ice cream sandwiches. I have never seen the appeal. I shared The Decadent Peanut Butter Ice Cream Sandwich with friends first and they all quickly swooned!
I was skeptical. I do not like store-bought cookies either so… OK, they won me over. I would have preferred more chocolate to peanut butter but still, these work. A very smart and devilish foodie idea!
These are so good I will say they are kind of dangerous. I mean it is two cookies stuffed with ice cream. Not the healthiest of desserts but definitely a treat and at only $4.99 a box of six, I give these four and a half out of five wooden spoons.
I did not have super high expectations for their Avocado Mayo Sandwich Spread. I thought it was just going to be slightly avocado flavoured and like a typical mayo. Nope, I was wrong! Creamy, really tangy, delicious… I LOVED this spread! Now of course making your own homemade avocado mayo is easy but getting perfectly ripe avocados is always a challenge for me, not to mention they are expensive.
This is a smart product I will buy again. Simple idea with lots of flavour. I wish I could tell you how much it is but I can not seem to find the price in the Insider’s Report. Flavour wise it is a four and a half out of five for me. Reg was not as impressed but he really does not seem to like avocados.
For those wondering about the Avocado Dressing Lime and Jalapeño for $1.99, everyone else seemed to like it but I did not. I found it quite sour and bitter yet flavourless. No one else agreed with me so I am just going to let the review on that one go. I also did not get a chance to try the PC Pretzel Buns but I will try and pick some up soon!
When I opened the Garlic & Herb Marinade, it smelled like Italian salad dressing to me. I used it on chicken and Reg and I liked it. We did not love it but we thought it was OK. Would I pay $2.49 for it? No. For us, it was middle of the road. I give it a slightly bored three out of five wooden spoons. I will give it credit for making an easy dinner that night though but it did not wow me at all.
Crank up your condiments!
President’s Choice relishes finally came to my store!
You will find them in the refrigerated meat section. Not exactly intuitive for me! And man, was it ever hard to find the Caramelized Onion Relish which is the one I wanted to try the most. I found the jar at the very bottom on the stack… Finally! Guess I wasn’t the only one curious about it.
If you like caramelized onions, you will be entranced once you open this jar. Divine! But strong. It would hurt Reg’s sensitive nose but I love it.
I added a nice amount to some sliders I made for dinner…
… and was underwhelmed. They were really mellow when stacked with the mustard and ketchup too. I was surprised, I wanted more of a “pow!” Some people will think I am crazy. For those who enjoy subtle flavours, I am sure this will knock them over. I am not one of those people.
I also have a real issue with the packaging. I love that it comes in a glass jar but it is so wide and fat, it takes up a ton of space. Absolutely impractical. I guess the idea is you buy a bunch and stack them but this is the only one that really appeal to me. At only $2.50 though, it is a bit of a deal so I give these three and a half out of five wooden spoons.
I used the Steak Spice Marinade for over 24 hours on this giant steak. I only added salt and pepper for seasoning when I grilled it, which was hard for me. I love doing spice rubs.
So? It tasted like… steak. It made the meat tender but it just tasted like red meat to me. Which I know for some people is absolutely perfect. I was bored out of my mind. I used the leftover steak to make fajitas with because it was just too ordinary on its own. For those who just want tender and unflavoured meat, you will love this product. For me? It would be a waste of $2.49. I could make my own marinade with waaaaaayyyy more flavour for nothing. I am not their target market so me rating this product just does not make sense.
This latest batch of PC products was absolutely fascinating and as always, I am very grateful to be chosen to test these for you so you can figure out what you want to give a shot and what to leave behind. Hope my reviews were helpful!
Holy moly, that is the mother of all steaks! Too bad about the carmelized onion relish. I may still give it a try though to see if I like it. I love carmelized onions!
Great reviews as always and holy “cow” that is one generous steak!
I picked up a jar of the Maple Mustard, and if you want a punch to your tastebuds, this is it! I honestly think it should be labelled as a spicy product (they need to put a warning on the label)because I was not expecting the heat, super spicy and it didn’t have enough maple for me. I used it on back bacon sandwiches and it was too intense and overpowering, yet I still liked the flavour. I think it would be a great marinade for pork or salmon, used very sparingly.
I know, isn’t that steak crazy?! The relish was OK, I just thought it would taste as good as it smells because it smells heavenly. I love caramelized onions too.
I heard the same thing Ava about that mustard, that it’s incredibly spicy which you wouldn’t tell from its name at all, very misleading. I would figuring it was sweet more than anything. Thanks for letting me know! I am going to pass on that one.
Hope you enjoyed the reviews and found them helpful!
