Recently I stopped by the gorgeous foodie paradise Cucina Moderna. This store pretty much has all the kitchen tools that have ever shown up on the Food Network and more! One tool I have been looking for for years now is a bench scraper. Basically it is a tool that people who do wood working and other handy hobbies use in order to scrape up a lot of material at once. I went to hardware stores and could not find one anywhere! But Cucina Moderna had something even better: RSVP’s Endurance Chooper.
The name “chooper” is derived from the fact that this tool is actually three tools in one: chopper, scooper and scraper. I tried it out yesterday while making a fabulous macaroni salad (I think I have made every salad in the world during this heatwave). I have super tiny hands, smaller than any adult’s I have ever met, so when you are chopping a ton of veggies like I do having something like this to help transports the food could be a huge help. And it is! I LOVE it! The fact that unlike most bench scrapers the Chooper has a space under the handle which allows for even more food to be moved makes it well worth the money! I only spent $10 Canadian for this tool and on Amazon the Chooper
is under $7 US!
I really love that it is supposed to be dishwasher safe and sure enough, it is. Here it is after being washed and it is in perfect shape. The blade is even measured which will help in my baking and is completely safe on non-stick surfaces. It will be perfect for slicing up my brownies!
Despite its silly name, this kitchen tool is a keeper for this foodie. Its hard-as-steel nylon blade gives me confidence that this tool will be my friend in the kitchen for a long, long time.
I give this kitchen tool five out of five wooden spoons!
That’s so cool! Thanks for sharing your Chooper adventure. I’m so glad you found something that works so well!
What a neat tool! It rocks that it works so well for you.
I like the ruler on the edge too. I’ll be looking for it!
I love it! It is a silly name, but it looks really handy! I may have to give this one a try!
My favorite recent kitchen gadget is the “Garlic Twist”… I bought it a while back and only just started using it!! It’s way better than a garlic press (IMO) and we’ve been getting fresh garlic from the farmer’s market – YUMMY!
How neat! I’ve never seen one of those. And great price. Thanks for the heads up.
