We drink a lot of smoothies. I mean it. At least once a day, often two times a day. We love them.
What I did not like was having to use straws. Trust me, you drink enough berry smoothies and you will have to start using straws. Which sucks, literally, but is true. Just ask my dentist!
All those straws going into the trash broke my heart. And, I hate plastic. I try and stay away from plastic in my kitchen at all costs. Right before my birthday I asked myself, do Stainless Steel Drinking Straws exist? Yes they do! Click here for straws in the U.S.
On my wishlist they went and my sister Shannon got them for me for my birthday! Then I started to get nervous. What if they get so cold they hurt my teeth in the winter? Will they be easy to clean? What if I hate them?
No way! We adore them! I can not believe it took me this long to think of them and am so thrilled we have them. Yes, the straws do get cold but my sensitive teeth I can handle them.
They are very long so they work great with big smoothies. They are bent which I found a little awkward at first but is really no big deal. That mini cleaning brush works perfectly too. I rinse the straws, clean with the brush, rinse again and then and put them through the dishwasher. Love that!
One of the best gifts I have gotten for myself and the planet. Shannon, you rock! I thank you, Reg thanks you and Mother Nature thanks you.
These Stainless Steel Drinking Straws are a great price and totally worth the investment, which is not steep and is a much healthier choice for smoothie drinkers everywhere. I can see nothing wrong with this product, I never want to live without these straws ever again.
I give this product five out of five wooden spoons.

I am so glad you like them Suzie! I had no idea that you just discovered them right before your birthday, what perfect timing. I know that you and Reg love your smoothies and I’m so happy to hear that going plastic-free makes them all the more enjoyable. And I’m THRILLED they aren’t a pig to clean….that was my biggest concern! WOOHOO.
YAY for birthday presents that rock 🙂

I’ve been thinking about buying them. My 2 year old loves a straw and I too worry about plastic. Nurtured on Robie Street in Halifax sells them. They are currently out of stock though.

I purchased glass straws over the holiday from Glass Dharma and they’re quite amazing!
The stainless steel looks nice too but I think glass is easier on the mouth.
