When I read in a press release that said Minute Maid Peach was made with real peach juice, I had to check it out. Most peach “drinks” have no real peaches in them at all. A juice made with peach puree? I was interested. Peach is one of our favourite flavours but it is always so bloody fake!
The hard part was finding it. I do not usually buy these type of products so I was a bit lost. I wanted to make the recipe in this booklet for “Peachy Keen Smoothies” and found the Minute Maid Peach Punch but where the heck was the juice?
Duh Suzie! It was in the refrigerated fruit juice section, an area I rarely go to. A container of juice for $3.99 is a little steep for me. But… I found it!
Product Testing
The juice on its own is quite delicious. There is still added sugar and colour which I was not thrilled with but to have real peach flavour? That was beautiful.
I made the Peachy Keen Smoothie and it was phenomenal.
Yes, I would normally use real food to make a smoothie but Reg is allergic to uncooked peaches so this is the closest thing he can have to fresh peaches. Very dreamy!
I also used the juice in my own typical smoothies with mango, banana and pineapple.
Rich, creamy and wonderful. Totally love it!
I also wanted to do more testing with Minute Maid Peach Punch so I made over-night cold brewed iced tea. I filled a pitcher with water, added six tea bags and let sit in the fridge overnight.
This makes a stunning iced tea and this way, for me, it is decaf!
As the sweetener I used the Minute Maid Peach Punch and gave it a good stir. Although there is more sugar than fruit juice in the punch, it is made with real fruit juice.
Beautiful! This might be my favourite version of homemade decaf iced tea yet.
A completely perfect summertime drink. Refreshing, peachy and easy to make. A great way to beat the heat.
Foodie Results
Although there was more sugar than I wanted in the juice and punch, used with restraint and as the sweetener in both the smoothies and the iced tea, Minute Maid brought the taste of peaches back into our home. A little on the expensive side but for a treat? Totally worth it.
I give the Minute Maid Peach and Minute Maid Peach Punch three and a half out of five wooden spoons. I love that they are made with real fruit juice but wish they had just kept them their own natural colour. Adding colour (natural or not) and sugar to both makes them not quite natural enough for me to use again which is a shame, because it is a great product.
A love treat for the summer but not something I would buy on a regular basis.

I try to stay away from the fake fruit juices too, just a little odd to me! Why alter something nature already made perfect?
On another note, I tried to make smoothies yesterday with the cheap blender that came with our furnished apartment, and it was a disaster! It took so long to make because my frozen fruit didn’t break up well. My Magic Bullet Blender works better than that! Posting a link to it just in case you haven’t seen one yet. http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Bullet-Express-17-Piece-High-Speed/dp/B000AEZVRS

Poor Reg, allergic to uncooked peaches, boy is he missing out!
All your beverages just scream fresh and summery, they look so good. Awhile back, our Loblaws had a sale on the Minute Maid juice cartons, 2 for $5 along with a .75 coupon so if you can wait for a sale, it was a much better deal than 4 bucks (yes, very steep).
Also, great way to sweeten iced tea, going to have to remember that one.

Tori, I have dealt with crappy blenders before, they are a nightmare! So you like your magic bullet?
Ava, I know, there are so many fruits Reg can’t eat raw, it’s such a shame.
Oh man, I will have to keep an eye out for coupons, that is a great deal. Making more iced tea right now! Yum…
