The last time Jamie visited we drove down to Lunenburg and had coffee and cookies at Salt Shaker Deli. I have dreamed of those cookies ever since!
This deli is beautiful. It is casual and yet has so much charm and style. I love that they have an indoor patio at the front of the restaurant.
We sat by the window and got lots of sunlight overlooking the water.
I don’t think we could have had a better time yesterday driving along the South Shore. You totally have to check out this post with a photo of Reg getting attacked by a Forest Wizard. Love it!
October is a quiet time in Lunenburg but we loved having the place all to ourselves. What a warm spot too! No worries about being chilly at this deli.
Jamie and Reg got some cheesy garlic bread. Reg said that it was more cheese and bread than garlic. Very soft bread with a nice cup of coffee.
Justin got the Koronisti & Pita, a roasted pepper, feta and garlic dip. Very tasty!!!
I had to get their smoked seafood chowder which was out of this world. Not too heavy, the vegetables and the seafood were cooked absolutely perfectly. I was in foodie heaven. I think this is one of the best chowders I have ever had in my entire life. Seriously, it was perfect.
What an amazing day we had yesterday and the weather was 100% perfect. If you need a place to rest your feet and get a bite while in Lunenburg, go to the Salt Shaker Deli. You will not regret it! And seriously, order the chowder.
I give this restaurant four and a half out of five wooden spoons.
