What do you make in the summer when it is too hot to bake but you want to share some treats with friends? FUDGE! Why? It is fast and once you are used to making it, super easy. Not to mention delicious and absolutely sinful.
The Recipe
Measure out 1 cup of peanut butter and 1 tsp of vanilla extract. Place in a large bowl together.
In a sauce pan add 2 cups of sugar and 3 tbsp of cocoa.
Add 1/2 cup of milk. I used skim.
Whisk together and then put the pan on medium high heat. When I put mine on high heat it just goes out of control. I would rather take my time getting it to boil.
Look, it is starting to come to a rolling boil, so cool!
Let it sit at a rapid boil for just one minute.
This is the trick. You have to move quickly! Add the melted chocolate mixture to the peanut butter.
Quickly whisk in the peanut butter until it melts.
Immediately put into a greased baking dish and allow to cool. If you go too slowly, the fudge will be grainy and dry.
Mine was not! At all. Absolutely melt-in-your-mouth divine and literally took five minutes to make.
I made this for Alissa and Emily as a thank you for driving me to all the amazing places they have introduced me too. They had the dessert after lunch at Cheese Curds in the parking lot. It was a big hit!
Very rich, total classic peanut butter chocolate combo… The perfect treat on a hot summer’s day.
