We have a tiny little gardening box in our backyard. Last year we grew radishes and carrots (and when I say we, I mean Reg).
This year Reg planted multicoloured carrot seeds!
The weather was unusually wet and cool at first this summer in Vancouver.
But the heat did finally kick in and what a growing season!
We had quite the harvest of all different colours of carrots, not to mention sizes.
They cleaned up beautifully. Look at those foodie jewels!!!
We enjoyed them sliced in salads.
As well as ribboned in salads. Lots of salads this summer once the heat arrived!
Did you grow anything this summer? I would love to hear about it. I am already trying to think of what we should grow next year!

That’s a bumper crop! I just bought a nice bag of multi-coloured carrots not too long ago at a farmer’s market. I don’t have a garden but My Rare One did an all-root-veggie garden this year. Today she and a friend are in the midst of a beet harvest production line — pull, clean, boil, peel, freeze. Tomorrow’s production line is for borscht with the rest of the beets.

They’re lovely carrots, aren’t they? Not as sweet but so pretty! Wow, beets eh?! Now that’s a great idea, maybe we’ll grow those next year. Thanks and enjoy the Borscht Debra!

Glad the carrots worked out for you!

Thanks Randal, me too!!! We’re just finishing the last of the little ones.
